Walking for the Cause

Across Florida and Ohio, our associates have been busy making strides for breast cancer, remembering those suffering from Alzheimer’s, and raising awareness of heart disease at various walks and runs across the nation. Breast cancer awareness month took place in October. November marks Alzheimer’s awareness month. Both causes affect our friends, families and our residents. Many of our associates took part in events in their communities with the support of the Greystone Health Network. In Ohio, the Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation Center team called the Guardians of Memory walked to support Alzheimer’s Awareness in honor of their residents affected by the disease. Many of our Florida locations joined in the effort, walking in Port Charlotte and Gainesville Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walks. In Gainesville, the network received an award for their support and sponsorship including our Riverwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, Greystone Home Health and Park Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center teams. Park Meadows represented with the largest walking team at the event. In Port Charlotte, Village Place Health and Rehabilitation Center

November 2015

Letter from the CEO The holidays are one of my favorite times of the year. Families and friends gather together, we each celebrate another year of successes and growth, and the anticipation of a new year brings new possibilities and excitement for the future. I am so thankful to each of you for allowing the Greystone Health Network to be a part of your holiday season, and for the joy we each share in our communities. The smiling faces I see year-round are evidence of the sense of family and care that we provide our residents, families and friends. Each year I see our Greystone families rise to the holiday occasion and I know this year we will be no different. Across Ohio and Florida, our centers are busy planning holiday meals and celebrations. We hope you will join us to ring in the season with our upcoming festivities. While the holiday’s bring so much joy, they may also bring stress. Adding the various celebrations, parties and events to an already busy life can sometimes be overwhelming. Don’t forget to take time for yourself this season, and make your own health a priority. Get plenty of rest, make healthy dining choices and make a meeting with yourself for regular exercise. From our family to yours, I wish you a warm and happy holiday season!

Keevajoined the Rockledge Health and Rehabilitation 11 years ago. She is a certified nursing assistant. She loves the residents and her fellow associates.

Keeva likes working in the medical profession because she loves people. Keeva said she is, “goofy and can fit in just about anywhere.” Keeva is also creative. She has also been a makeup artist.

Her greatest accomplishments are her two children, and her continued education.

Thank you, Keeva for being part of our family. Congratulations on being selected associate of the month.

Elsie is originally from Elwood,

IN. She ended up in Florida

about 20 years ago. Elsie and

her second husband were

traveling, and decided to build

their retirement home here.

The secret to a happy marriage,

according to Elsie is mutual

respect for one and other. She

has four children, one daughter,

Carolyn; and three sons: Jimmy,

Johnny and Jerry.

Elsie loves being a part of the

Rockledge Health and

Rehabilitation Center family.

She likes the people she has

met here. Elsie also appreciates

the opportunity to relax.

Look for Elsie at the Bingo table.

It is her favorite activity!

Congratulations, Elsie for being

selected as our resident of the

month! We are glad you are

part of our family.
