The last seven weeks I’ve been busy with articulating and visualizing

my fascinations during the course and also in my own time at home. I

searched for where my fascinations come from. That’s how I found

out that one of my biggest fascinations which is ‘Success’ came from

a damaged side of my personality. I’m a dreamer, that’s one thing for

sure.. It explains why I think so many things are interested.

This kind of self-discovery was a pleasant way to work which should

be used as many as possible to make your goals come true. Priscilla van de Ven, CO3

Who is Priscilla?

Most important persons

- Jolanda/my Mom

My mother is the most important person in my life, I don’t know what I should

do without her. She raised me all by herself, this is something I will always be

grateful for. Our personalities are very different but at the same time I look just

like her. She’s always there for me and I really admire her.

- Mien/my Grandmother

My grandmother died when I was 7 years old but I still remember almost

everything about her. The day I came to life, my grandfather died at the same

day so my whole family had to deal with sadness and happiness at the same

time. My grandmother raised 7 children, was always laughing and I still miss

her every day.

- Esmée/ Sister

Esmée is not my biological sister, but she does feel like one. Her house was near

our house when I was just a baby. She was often at our home and stayed with

me when my Mom went out. She saw me grow up and was there almost every

important happening in my life. I can always come to her when I want to talk,

she is always there for me.

- Whitney/ Dog

An irreplaceable family member. She was my cuddly, I could always talk to her

even though I didn’t get a single word back. I got her since I was 8 years old.

For my feeling, she was supposed to be here with since she came into my life.

She recently passed away, I still miss her every day..

What are you always curious about?

I’m always curious about things that are hard to understand or to explain. Things,

happenings without explanations.. Life, Love, Choices, my Future etc.

What skill have you never used, but would really like to use? Drawing/painting skills

What do you like to talk about? I like to talk about un-explained happenings in life, celebrities, tv series

What do you like to watch or listen to? I like to listen to Good, soul touching music. I like to watch to tv series

You can make exactly one final thing and then never again. What would this be, and what material would you use? I would make a chip that I could put into my head that could make me remember everything without any damage to my healthy. I think i would use some healthy iron.

Dutch girl got a Job at MTV Networks London after her successful Internship. The

management of MTV Networks was so enthusiastic about the Dutch hardworking student that they couldn’t let her go. She is going to work with a lot of big names. It’s a job where some girls of her age only can dream about!

What fascinates you at the moment?

How people interact in this world. The wrong choices people make and how we keep

on hurting each other.

Which artist fascinates you? Robin Thicke, Usher, Beyonce, Doutzen Kroes &Sylvie v/d Vaart

What do you see? - Glamour magazines - Usher in Concert ticket - A heart photo frame - postcard from my vacation in Curacao to my mom - Buddha - dream catcher - Books about dreams, love and reading hands. Why are these important? These things are important for me for several reasons; - Glamour magazines. Why; they keep me busy and interested. They tell me a lot about the newest fashion and beauty trends. It keeps me dreaming about a glamorous future. They show a lot of pictures and rumors about celebrities who inspire me. - Usher in Concert ticket. Why; It was my first biggest concert, which made me look forward for a great job in the EME industry. I am really inspired by Usher his music. His music really touches my soul. It feels like some kind of understanding. Usher in concert is one of my most impressive moments in life till so far.. - A heart photo frame Why; because one of my fascinations is ‘Love’. Also are pictures really important for me because they keep the history alive. - postcard from my vacation in Curacao to my mom Why; Like usher in concert, also my trip to Curacao is one of the most impressive moments in my life till so far. I never saw anything like what I saw in this vacation. Beautiful sunset, ocean, beach, the music, I went into the sea with dolphins.. - Buddha Why; I think you can find a lot of solutions for happenings back into a religion. Buddha is a strong feature for something to believe in. - Dream catcher Why; I’m a believer, I think dreams are there for some reason. Not only your dreams for the future but the dreams you have while you’re sleeping. Sometimes it can be too much to have a horrible dream every night. That’s why I got this dream catcher, to keep the bad dreams away.

Excuse for dying, reason to live. Special place in someone’s life. Pure thing, very rare in life. # SUCCESS Status – Dreams – Power – Celebrities – Inspire – Passion/Pain/Pleasure “Having the courage, the determinations and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be” A level of social status. Having success in life means you did something good or impressive. A meaningful life. Being busy with making dreams of goals come true. Inspire people. Powerful. # MUSIC Emotions – Lyrics – Life – Power – Inspire – Love – Mind/Body/Soul – Passion A specific sound/rhythm sometimes in combination with lyrics that can make you feel good, safe, happy, in love.. etc. Creative way to express yourself. Fashion references to anything that is the current trend in look. Trends are related to stand out and change. How you dress yourself says a lot about your lifestyle and about you as a individual. Fashion is a way to express yourself. # BEAUTY Pure – Colors – Inspire – Fashion – Mind/Body/Soul Pure beauty without makeup. But also with makeup, a kind of art. Beauty is not only at the outside but also on the inside. If you’re really beautiful on the inside, you’ll radiate it on the outside. Hair, skin, eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks, body. All so unique, that makes it beautiful. # DRAWINGS/IMAGES Colors – Passion – Emotions – Love I love to draw, it’s a way to put your feeling on paper without giving any word. First there was no electricity, now there is not a lot without. How will it be in 40 years. Will my children ever drive in a normal car? It keeps me curious how the future will be because we keep on exploring, developing and changing every day.

# TRAVEL Multicultural – Nature – Life – Pure Seeing the world. Seeing the world from another side. Other people, new experiences, other lifestyles, a different atmosphere.. It’s fascinating how every country has its own nature, kind of living, culture. Seeing the world makes you change your values because all lessons come out of nature, the beauties of this world.

Already 16 months, every week I read the Grazia. Every week there is a new column from Sylvie van der Vaart 'Style Spy Sylvie’. Sylvie describes her week, what choices she had to do with, how she felt, what she has been true, where she found her inspiration and what she has learned. She lives the perfect life even though she had breast cancer two years ago. She managed to survive during this disease and came back even stronger. Sylvie lives a lovely family life but on the other hand she is also a strong ambitious career woman. She lives a nice life with her husband, soccer player Rafael van der Vaart and her son Damian. Each week she travels up and down to her work done in Germany where she has a familiar TV face. Sylvie has fashion sense, she is beautiful, very funny but she is also very wise in the choices she makes. For me, Sylvie the figurehead for success. Sylvie began as a model, went further on television. She started as a VJ at TMF. After her job as a VJ for TMF you could not miss her face in the Netherlands. She also appeared in COSTA! and had a few other extras roles in other series. Meanwhile, she is still a model and still very well known in TV land only in Germany. Sylvie presents at almost all the glamorous parties and is one of the new faces of L'Oreal. Being the face of L'Oreal means a lot for Sylvie because she is obviously really proud of her short real hair because she was bald from chemotherapy. What inspires me so much about Sylvie is that she is a very down to earth person. She appreciates every little thing in life even though she has so much.

CONCEPT ‘THE FEMALE FACE OF SUCCESS’

Concept

Photo exhibition of women in our society with the disease of breast cancer or recovered from breast cancer, all photographed by the same photographer. These women are chosen by someone who wants to give them a good feeling by letting them know that he / she believes in her. It will be a photo exhibition that radiates power, confidence and success. Hopefully the victims of this disease will feel powerful, confident en successful after seeing these beautiful pictures of themselves. They are not just pictures. These are photos with a thought behind it. For the victims of breast cancer it will be a tribute, a confidence boost and a helping hand. The pictures are for sale and visitors from the exhibition can offer. The yield of the photos goes to the charity 'Pink Ribbon' The most logical is that the exhibition takes place in October because this month is known as the month of breast cancer. The exhibition will have two weeks to visit and will be in a nice big lighted room. During the exhibition you can stand still and think about the victims of breast cancer, it’s also a kind of support. The victims who survived the disease or even taking it with them are central during these two weeks. The exhibition will be promoted by pink ribbon itself, through an ad in the newspaper and through social media.

Why

For the Advanced Courses' Creativity and Personality " the assignment is to create a concept out of your fascination and personality. After working these two out carefully to find out whats exactly there and working intensively to end, I came to the realization of "The Female Face of Success' problem Every woman needs a confirmation, it's in our generation. We are glad to hear that we did well. Confidence gives us feel good and look like a confident person. Success comes from within, it's about what you believe and what you feel. If you receive confirmation that you have successfully achieves in any way whatsoever and believe in yourself than you will eventually feel like a successful person. 'A successful person is a dreamer someone Whom Believed in'

Pink ribbon

Getting back to my personality and to get more specific to my concept, I would like to link to Pink Ribbon. This is based on my personality because my mother was diagnosed at age of 18th that she had breast cancer. Take god she survived this disease but even when the cancer is gone it will always be there, not in your body but in your soul and mind. This concept, developed out of respect for my mother, for the survival of breast cancer disease.

breast Cancer Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the Netherlands. Every year there are about 13,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer. Every woman has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her life. Heredity plays a role in less than 20%.

Target group

Women with breast cancer or recovering from breast cancer. Women who need some support. Women who are not themselves anymore, by wearing the breast cancer disease. Many of these women have low self esteem, no sense of success. They need the confirmation they really are beautiful and successful. mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, colleague, daughter, niece, wife

Objective

The concept of the female face of success, "I hope women with breast cancer and recovered from it to boost their self-esteem by giving a form of admiration and respect.
