Shelby Holland Statewide tour of Districts September and October travels during the 2019 Fall District mee ngs will always be a highlight for this officer as

she visited each of the “Shelby’s Sassy Six” during her “Wander Weekenders” travel across Georgia. District business

was handled, informa ve reports were given, and table handouts added value to each mee ng, therefore, each mee ng

was phenomenal and declared a success. This officer enjoyed being a part of a welcoming and friendly group of women

as she shared brief details regarding the upcoming 2020-2022 administra on. Again, thank you all for being so

welcoming and kind during my visit.

At the end of October, this Officer a ended the Southern Region Conference that was held in North Charleston,

SC. She, along with other Southern Region Sisters, heard brief details from

President-Elect Marion St. Claire for her upcoming administra on as well as

details for the 2020-2022 GFWC Orienta on to be held November 14-17. This

officer was proud to have been a part of GFWC Georgia who presented a cheer

as Georgia focused on the Legisla ve Center Ini a ve of GFWC President Mary

Ellen Brock. As the Georgia Ladies were one of the winners in the cheer

compe on, Georgia will present our cheer again at the 2020 GFWC

Club Presidents, please take me to review your club’s GFWC Georgia

Achievement GOAL Sheet as you s ll have me to finalize prior to the end of

December to receive that desired 100 points score for this report due on

Let us all be mindful of how our clubs can serve our communi es

during the holidays and to the end of the year. As there are less than two

months remaining in this decade, what will you do for 2020?

North East District -PRESIDENT Patty Gabilondo 2019 LEADS Candidate

Here are some lovely quotes about fall…. “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." —Albert Camus "Autumn . . . the year's last, loveliest smile." —William Cullen Bryant "Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil pain ng and autumn a mosaic of them all." —Stanley Horowitz "Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive au-tumns." —George Eliot "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall." —F. Sco Fitzgerald

The dedicated ladies of our North East District Clubs have been very busy over the past few months. Visi ng the clubs in my district, installing officers, induc ng new members or a end-ing a club mee ng are the highlights of this posi on, and I want to encourage all of you read-ing this newsle er to consider stepping up to a District or State posi on if/when asked. We need fresh new outlooks and ideas to con nue to develop future leaders. It was my honor to serve as GFWC Georgia’s LEADS candidate this summer at the GFWC Conven on in Aus n, TX, and so inspiring to know that we are a part a great organiza on that is changing the world for the be er one community and one project at a me. Our 2019 GFWC Georgia Jennie Award nominee, Brenda Mar n calls the North East District her home, and we are looking forward to state conven on next year when both our GFWC Georgia President (Shelby Holland) and Jun-ior Director (Dana Skelton) will be installed. Both of these ladies are from our North East Dis-trict as well. The opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with such caring women is a true gi .

Kim’s Corner - Community Service Programs What IMPACT has your club made this past year? How do you measure? How do you know?

If your club reports to GFWC Ga, you can capture your community impact and help GFWC Ga and GFWC meas-ure their collec ve impact as well. It is never too soon to begin the repor ng process so gather your club mee ng reports, treasurer’s reports, news-le ers, local newspaper ar cles and calendars now. The holidays are upon us so don’t delay in organizing your repor ng materials. The due date for reports, both electronic and mailed, is January 25.

There are changes to every form. There are changes to every form. There are changes to every form.

Be sure to download the report forms from the GFWC Georgia website, www.gfwcgeorgia.org. The forms can be found under the tab for Club Re-sources: Repor ng & Forms. Do not use the forms from the printed year-book, however, the online yearbook has the corrected forms as well. The changes to the forms are editorial. And, as a reminder, in the narra ve por on of the report you may list your top ten (10) PROJECTS. These are to be individual projects and not a cate-gory list of work. I know it’s hard to decide what to choose but the CSP Chairmen and I need you to do just that. The “Most Crea ve” report should be considered your biggest im-pact project. This is not an 11th project but, an extension of one of your top 10. Use this report to give us more

informa on and juicy dbits about your work! If you have any ques-

ons, contact the appropriate CSP Chairman or myself to clarify.

How do you get organized for re-por ng? Here’s a few ps that might help:

I Invite your Club officers, CSP Chairmen, and any interested members to be a part of a report wri ng team.

M Make scheduled dates to meet with the team to write your club reports. Perhaps a scheduled mee ng with each CSP will help keep you on task and simplify the informa on gathering. Assign one person to construct the report based on the feedback from the group.

P Plan a final mee ng to read over all reports before they are mailed or emailed. Give yourself me to edit and rework if necessary.

A Act now to begin the process of collec ng the informa on for re-por ng. There’s nothing worse than the panic that ensues when you procras nate!

C Call on your State CSP Chairmen and your 2nd VP to assist if you have ques ons. Who be er to help?

T Tally all projects, hours and do-na ons both monetary and in-kind. Remember, you report your totals even if you have done more work in an area than 10 projects!

Finally, keep a list of those members responsible for wri ng and submi ng each re-port. Construct a line of com-munica on in your club that ensures the reports have been mailed or emailed within the deadline requirements. Your club President or a designated member should check off re-ports as they are sent. A er re-ports are sent, relax and relish in your accomplishments!
