Themes Camp Descriptions
Animal
Adventures
June 19th-June 23rd
We are kicking off our summer “adventures” by learning about different animals in various environments. There is a wonderful world of animals out
there just waiting to be explored! Children will even have the opportunity to interact with real-live animals and get to go on a Pony Ride!
Kitchen Chemists June 26th-June 30th
In Kitchen Chemistry, children will engage in a variety of lessons beginning with basic cooking instructions that will cover safety, measuring and
mixing, eating healthy, and preparing food. Children will explore cooking through hands-on activities that will prepare them to be master Chefs!
Paint, Draw,
Sculpt
July 3rd-July 7th
This week, children will create art to express themselves and learn about fine arts and crafts. Projects will include painting, drawing, sculpting, and
art history. At the end of the week, the children will display their masterpieces around the school as they create a Goddard Art Museum.
Rockin’ Robots
July 10th-July 14th
Children and adults are fascinated by robots. In this camp, children will explore robotics by designing, building, and using robots. In addition, the
children will use their creativity and construction skills to make robot sculptures using LEGOS, a proud member of the partnership for 21st century
learning skills along with The Goddard School.
GOOOAAALLL!!!
July 17th-July 21st
Teaching children healthy exercise habits is a key building block to a heathy future. Each day this week, children will be exposed to sports
including basketball, baseball, soccer, football, as well as fitness and exercise. Our Pre-K students will also enjoy the Dynasty Sports specialty
camps teaching children how to play each of the sports featured daily!
Passport Around
the World
July 24th-July 28th
Grab your passports because this week we will be traveling the world! Destinations include United States all the way to Japan and stopping a few
places in between! Children will learn about world culture through nutrition activities and interactive games that will show them how children live
in different countries.
Authors in
Training
July 31st-August 4th
This week, your child will express themselves creatively in various literary forms and genres. They will focus on specific core learning areas including
reading skills, phonemic awareness, and dramatic expression. Children will also get to explore several popular authors through famous literature.
The Great
Outdoors
August 7th-August 11th
Get ready for a week in the forest as we explore The Great Outdoors! Children will be learning about the environment and those who inhabit it
and even have the chance to see and touch a few “wild” and furry friends!
Road trip U.S.A
August 14th-August 18th
Grab your maps because it’s time for a cross-country road trip! This week, children will have the chance to explore a few of the fifty states,
including our very own! Children will be focusing on food, people, and landmarks. Children will also determine which states to visit and how they
will get there!
Under the Big
Top
August 21st-August 24th
As our “last act” for the summer, we will be performing Under the Big Top! Children will learn about circus events, activities, jobs, and animals. We
will focus on physical skills, creative expression, and showmanship.
