To be honest, I have long felt that I should be making it a priority to set aside a bigger chunk of time to do this daily, and Lent gives me a nice framework for diving in. As I was getting ready for bed on Sunday, I thought, "whoops! Got to pray before bed!" The half hour proved to be a rich blessing. I pray that God will help me continue in this habit long after the season has come and gone! A few notes: Our Lenten small groups are beginning this week, and I think we now have 70+ people signed up. I'm extremely excited about this! If you have not yet found a group, please call the office and we'll get you set up. And if you have signed up, please do your best to attend as regularly as you can. The more you put in to the experience, the more you'll get out! We'll have a Senior Connection Ministry workday on Saturday, March 18 at the home of one of our church members. I'll send an email to our regular participants soon, but if you aren't on the list and would like to be involved, please let me know. We need all the help we can get! The Ada Carey Caring Closet ministry is underway! We have begun collecting household items that will be made available to the women and children of the Ada Carey Shelter as they transition out of shelter life and into their own homes. If you have lightly used household items (small appliances, decor, etc) to donate, please bring them to church and leave them by the water fountain in the gym. Small items can go in the Ada Carey basket in the narthex. Thank you! Willing/able to pick up one of our senior members and bring him/her to worship on Sunday morning? Please let us know in the office. I looked out my office window on Thursday and saw 125+ children eating lunch and playing in the grass out back, while some of the older ones walked our labyrinth. Thank you for making our facility available to the Faith Home School partnership! Peace and blessings, Justin

Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 7:12-16 ♥ Sermon text: Luke 5:15-16 Sermon Title: “Let Us Pray, Part 2 - Preparing for Prayer”

Friends,

Those of you that were able to be with us on Sunday morning will remember that I made a commitment to pray for you, this congregation, for 30 minutes every day during the Lenten season. A few notes:

▪ Our Lenten small groups are beginning this week, and I think we now have 70+ people signed up. I'm extremely excited about this! The more you put in to the experience, the more you'll get out!

▪ We'll have a Senior Connection Ministry workday on Saturday, March 18 at the home of one of our church members. I'll send an email to our regular participants soon, but if you aren't on the list and would like to be involved, please let me know. We need all the help we can get!

THE GRANBURY PARKINSON SUPPORT GROUP is a very passionate group of patients and their caregivers who meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 12:30 pm. at Lakestone Terrace in the Game Room on the third floor. The group has been meeting for many years, arising from a Fort Worth group. There are speakers for one meeting a quarter; the other two meetings are for sharing knowledge and experience among the group, facilitated by a trained facilitator. Most of the group participate in formal exercise programs, knowing that exercise is a very important part of the management of Parkinson’s Disease. Some have had Deep Brain Stimulators implanted to help in the control of their disease. New members are welcomed each month, and the group continues to grow. Interested persons are welcome to join the group; the next meeting will be

March 28 at 12:30 P.M. If you have questions, contact Rogers Coleman at

817-326-3253.
