You’ll discover challenging, fully accredited academics for K5–12. DHCA has met the standards outlined by the South-ern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to be an ac-credited school and we are a member in good standing with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Learning and growing are facilitated by grouping students in three ranges: K5–6th grade, 7th & 8th grades, and 9th–12th grades.
DHCA offers an array of extracurricular activities.Decatur Heritage is a member school of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), competing as a 1A school. We currently field teams in football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, tennis, golf, fishing, wrestling, shooting and track & field.

Other activities include an organized Praise Team, Choral and Instrumental groups, Forensics, Robotics and Band; active clubs include the Key Club, Builder’s Club and National Honors Society Club.
We also offer a Center for Excellence after school enrich-ment and summer program which DHCA has made available to students throughout the community. Plus, our students have several opportunities to be involved in life-changing service projects throughout the year.

They are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of every student in their classroom through a variety of teaching strategies. In addition, the DHCA faculty is motivated and encouraged to attain only the highest professional standards and academic qualifications. All possess, at a minimum, Bachelor’s degrees in their areas of expertise, while many also have or are working towards Master’s degrees.
