Today I Learned… Today I learned about who the Holy Spirit is and what he does for me. Memory Verse: “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the
Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” John 14:25-26
Questions to Ask: 1. Who sent the Holy Spirit? 2. Why did God send the Holy Spirit? 3. What does the Holy Spirit do for us? 4. When the Holy Spirit is with us, what special fruits can be seen?
Family Time: Review with your child the memory verse everyday. Talk to them about who the Holy Spirit is and what he does for us. Encourage your child to practice telling you the fruits of the Holy Spirit and praise him (her) when (s)he shows them.

Who is the Holy Spirit and what does He do?
The Holy Spirit is a very special friend God sent us.
Before Jesus died, he told his friends, the disciples, that He had to leave, but they were not going to be alone. The Holy Spirit was going to come and help them, the way Jesus helped them. He was going to
remind them of everything Jesus said in case they forgot. The Holy Spirit helps us today. He helps us
make right choices. If someone tells us to do
something we are not supposed to do, He reminds us to obey God. The Holy Spirit wants to give us
“special fruits”. But He can only give it to us if we obey God and follow Him. The special fruits are:
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
When we have the Holy Spirit it is much easier to love and be kind to others!

Crafts and Ideas:
1. Craft: Have your children paint or color a paper plate the
colors of fire (red, orange, yellow). Color each fruit. Once
dry, cut out dove and place in the center. You may add
gold, red and/or orange glitter lines only on to the paper
plate. Punch eight holes into the paper plate (at bottom
edge). Tie each fruit, with yarn or ribbon to paper plate
and add a hole at the top of plate with ribbon to hang
up.
2. Craft: Have your children paint or color a paper plate.
Color each fruit. Cut out the center of the paper plate.
Glue the fruits around to create a wreath. Cut out the
dove and place in the center. Have your children complete
the copy work of the bible verse and staple or tape it to
the bottom of the wreath. Add a ribbon to the top to
hang and for decoration.
3. Craft; paint your child’s hands with red, orange and yel-
low paint. Have them stamp their hand prints, forming a
circle (about 6 hands all around ). Add glitter where de-
sired . Once dry, cut out dove and glue in center. Add bible
verse copy work if desired,

Crafts and Ideas:
4. Game: Like the game goldfish, cut up all the word cards
and fruit cards. Turn them all over and match up the
Fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Note: when printing out the cards, print the doves
and word cards, on one sheet; doves and fruit on
one sheet. Laminate for durability. If you are using
this in Sunday school, make enough sets for players
of two.
5. Game: Have each child pick a fruit. Make sure no one
sees what they picked. Have them sit in a circle. Like the
game “Duck, Duck Goose”, take the dove and pretend it is
flying around while singing
