This prestigious award has only been presented 10 other times since the Academy’s inception. Past recipients include: S Ron Goldstein (1992) S John McLean (1995) S Peter Sharer (1997) S Gordon Christensen (2001) S Leonard Abrams (2004) S Frank Celenza (2005) S Carl Rieder (2006) S Lloyd Miller (2007) S Harold Shavell (2012) S Dan Sullivan (2013)

AAED IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE 2015 RECIPIENT OF THIS NOTABLE AWARD, a true pioneer in the field of esthetic dentistry, Dr. Peter E. Dawson. In

addition to Dr. Dawson’s accomplishments within the field, this award also recognizes his commitment and exemplary services to AAED. The official presentation of this award will take place onThursday, August 6, immediately following the scientific sessions.

AAED GRANT FOR RESEARCH IN ESTHETIC DENTISTRY

2014 RECIPIENT –

DAVID D. KOJIC, DDS, MSC

We congratulate Dr. David D. Kojic as the recipient of this grant for his relevant research entitled, “Efficacy

of LED light-polymerization units in private dental offices in Toronto.”

This study aims to bring awareness to the curing of dental resin composite by using proper manipulation and adequate light-curing techniques to guarantee the best outcome for materials used to restore teeth. The results from the study will most likely influence regulatory agencies to make some guidelines for photopolymerization of dental resin composites.

The annual AAED Grant for Research in Esthetic Dentistry is funded by AAED via the Charles L. Pincus Fund and Oral Health America. Kojic is a graduate student in the Restorative Dentistry department at the University of Toronto in Ontario.
