Eugineers g ranted Ille a state license for land survey ing. I left Califor· nia in November, H)OI :Uld went to Eastern ~cw York with an invalicl wife who {lied in September, 1902. I came baek to r-.l ichigan in Septem. ber, 1903. Bod ily ailments com ­pelled me to go where the climate was mildcr. I came here in Mnrch, IQ08. My general he:llth haS been ,'ery good . I ne,'er have used to· bacco o r alcoholic stimulants. An observation of 50 years on the effects of an excessive use of tobac· co and alcoholic drinks, warrants me iu making a statement that it is a physioiogiclil law lhat an over· stimulatcd nervous system call1lot beget its equal.
