Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to

you. Allow Your healing hand to heal them. Touch their soul with Your com-passion for others. Touch

their Heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch their mind

with Your wisdom, that their mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach them to reach out to You in their need, and help them to lead others to You by example. Most loving Heart of Jesús, bring them health in body and spirit that they may serve You with all their strength. Touch gently these lives which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Gospel: lucas 9:11B-17 Have you noticed how all the readings today speak of feed-ing people? Our gospel story shows us Jesus and the Twelve surrounded by a huge, hungry crowd. When the Twelve protest that they cannot feed everyone, Jesus has them divide the crowd into smaller groups. Then he takes what they have and five loaves, two fishes and gives thanks

(blesses the food), breaks it, and invites the disciples to pass it around and share it. There is more than enough for everyone! We can, of course, see this story as a sign of the Eucharist, in which Jesus continues to feed the multitude of his followers. But we can also see it as a chal-lenge to do what we can to feed the millions of hungry people in our world today. 1.)Can we accept the challenge to share with others in need, even if what we have to share seems small and insignificant?

Administrator’s Corner for Parish Bulletin: June 2, 2013 (The Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ) Why do we have to be Bridge builders?

In Jesus’ day, the accustomed action for people who didn’t con-form to usual standards of behavior was to turn them into outcasts. Jesus showed us another way. He didn’t expel sinners but forgave them. In fact, many of his healings helped restore people to their communities. By com-manding us to love our enemies, Jesus demanded that we become bridge builders and refuse to recognize anyone as an enemy. As his followers, he wants us to build bridges, not walls. Listen without talking. Building bridges requires understanding others’ needs. Listening well is key but can be hard to do. Try starting a conversation and practice just listening. Maintain eye contact and don’t plan your response until the other person has finished speaking. Empathize. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. It means setting aside your own personal agenda so you can fully understand the other person’s needs. Be an instrument of peace. A disagreement doesn’t have to be-come a conflict. We gain nothing by being nasty or obnoxious. Instead, stick to the facts and be firm but friendly. Avoid gossip and gossips. This is the most obvious tip but talking about others behind their backs leads to trouble for others and for you. If you are asked about someone else, always find something positive to say. God bless you. Fr. Alex

No ganamos nada siendo desagradables o portándonos mal. Padre Alex
