YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

Thank you! Thank you for stopping by the “Milk and Cookie” booth last Sunday and supporting our youth ministry effort to get to Los Angeles for the Youth Conference in February. Your generosity paid for an entire person to go on the trip. You donated $529.00. You will be seeing more opportunities to support us. There are at least 10 teens who want to go and the cost is $450.00 - $500.00. We will try to think of creative and useful ways you can help.

LA Youth Day … February 22-26 Details are being finalized for the high school trip to LA for the Youth Day Conference. There will be singing, praying, Mass, workshops, laughter, hand motions and more. Those who have signed up for the LA Youth Day trip remember the down payment is due soon. Christmas Cards on sale…. Our famous Resurrection Christmas cards are back on sale. Pick up a package with our own stained glass window on it (photo by Fr. Shaw). Only $5 …. and you support the youth of the parish. There are 2 shifts available; late night or early in the morning. POSITIONS FOR VOLUNTEER AND JOB There is a position for a Care Partner in the Shaw Center Memory Care Day Program. It is part-time, non-exempt position. Responsibilities include assisting in day to day activites by supporting the participants with dignity and respect and learning their life stories. Volunteer Positions: Alzheimer’s Shaw Center Entertainment Scheduler: Assist with booking entertainment for our Senior Alzheimer’s day program. Also assist with reminding entertainers of their schedule and contacting them. Alzheimer’s Shaw Center Kitchen Volunteer: Prepare lunch by Council on Aging for day program, includes setting tables, temping food and cleaning/organizing the kitchen. Senior Transportation Assistant: Responsible for safety transporting senior citizens to medical appointments, grocery shopping and recreation activities. Must be reliable, compassionate and display good interpersonal skills. Tax Preparation Volunteer: Helping families receive the tax refunds they deserve by volunteering for the Earn it! Keep it! Save it! Program. Last year volunteers helped bring $6,8 million in refunds back to Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Humbolt and Del Norte Counties. No experience is necessary and training will be provided. PASTORAL ASSEMBLY NOMINATIONS FOR 2017 As the Pastoral Assembly enters into its twelfth year it is time to select four new members, one man and one woman from the English Community and one man and woman from the Spanish Community. We also need two alternates from each community. The Resurrection PPA (Parish Pastoral Assembly) exists to build relationships between the Spanish-speaking and English-speaking communities, to address mutually beneficial interests, concerns and activities. We are looking for parishoners with a strong faith, acceptance of the the teachings of Vatican II, able to listen and maintain confidentiality, along with other abilities. If anyone feels called to volunteer or would like permission to do so, there are applications in the church office. The deadline for nominations is December 27, 2016. This is a good time to prayerfully consider serving

the parish in an important role. NOMINACIONES PARA LA ASAMBLEA PASTORAL Como la Asamblea Pastoral entra en su duodecimo año, tenemos que seleccionar cuarto nuevos miembros, una mujer y un hombre de la Communidad en Inglés y un hombre y una mujer de la Communidad Hispana. Tambien necesitamos dos suplentes de cada communidad. La PPA (Asamblea Parrochiano Pastoral) existe para construir relaciones entre los de habla Ingles y los comunidades de habla en Ingles, para hacer frente a los intereses de beneficio mutuo, preocupaciones y actividades. Estamos buscando feligreses con fé de fuerte, aceptación de las enseñazas del Concilio Vaticano II, capaz de escuchar y mantener la confidencialidad y con otros habilidades. Si alguien sienten ser voluntario o desean elegir un feligres (despuez de pedir permiso de la persona), hay formas de nominacion en la oficina. La fecha de las candidaturas es el 27 de diciembre, 2016. Pedir en oración su consideración a partir en este

servicio importante en su Iglesia.
