Even your own memory is not to be t rusted, g iven that sc ient is ts now know we don' t actua l ly remember events as they are , we remember our last memory of remember ing them, which is why the more you remember an event the more cemented i t becomes, but a lso the more fau l ty that memory is

C O N F I R M A T I O N B I A S YOUR BRAIN WILL SEARCH FOR ONLY INFORMATION WHICH

CONFIRMS THE BELIEFS YOU ALREADY HOLD AND DISREGARD ALL EVIDENCE WHICH MAY DISPEL SUCH BELIEFS

F i rs t , i f our bra ins have not yet caught up to advances in our soc iety enough to understand that we do not need to constant ly be on the lookout for predator at tack and that th ink ing is actua l ly a more usefu l spending of our menta l energ ies , then they have certa in ly   not caught up enough to understand te lev is ion , music and other forms of f i c t ional enterta inment . . . they therefore in a l l l i k l ihood take these sources of in format ion in as peer rev iew or exper ience.

take note of any s tereotypes you see portrayed which you may have never actua l ly come into contact wi th but yet be l ieve to the point of "yeah of course . . . the b lack dude they arrested is p leading innocence and rac ism which is

what they a l l do when they are gu i l ty and caught" r id icu lousness . The rea l i ty i s that there are extreme

d iscrepenc ies in not only the amount of b lack and Hispanic people incarcarated for cr imes that whi tes

commit more of ten , but in the sentenc ing a l located which g ives nonwhite men the same sentences for nonv io lent

of fenses as whi te men rec ieve for murder , homic ide , assaul t and rape.

2 the second addi t ion to th is in format ion I would

l ike you to cons ider i s th is : those f i rs t be l ie fs that you form which are so very hard ( i f not imposs ib le ) to break wi thout concentrated

ef forts (which our bra ins wi l l f ight ) are usual ly formed by negat ive rather than pos i t ive events .

F E A R I S S T R O N G E R T H A N L O V E

People 's insecur i ty , fear of soc ia l sanct ion , fear of be ing made fun of , fear of be ing hurt , fear of not

be ing loved or accepted tends to be s tronger than the ir ab i l i ty to s tand up on reason, log ic , and what

i s r ight (espeica l ly at the younger age at which be l ie fs are f i rs t formed) .

and the fact that these types of bad events are usual ly caused by the type of people who have g iven in to the i r fear ( the bul l ies , the weak minded, the pre judiced, the fear fu l and the hate f i l led who choose to d isp lay these t ra i ts proudly as armour becausethey too were damaged young into fear ing reason which defeated the be l ie fs of those who damaged them) .

ARE FORMED BY NEGATIVE RATHER THAN POSITIVE INTERACTIONS OR MEMORIES

BECAUSE AVOIDING THE NEGATIVE TAKES PRECEDENT

so that we never have to face r id icu le , mock ing , cr i t i c i sm or hate for "not knowing" or "not see ing" what i s not there to be known or seenouts ide of the damage the damaged pass on in the form of fear for

ignorance they thus create in another generat ion.
