AOL Corporate was looking for best in class Fiber To The Desk (FTTD) cablingand patch cords. Since they were transporting huge amounts of data, it wasimperative to have high bandwidth and zero down-time. The right fibersolution had to provide quality and reliability from the server to the patchpanel and to the desk. AOL turned to TiniFiber’s Micro-Armor Fiber™ optics forits FTTD needs.

OS2 SingleMode fiber has a much smaller core, onlyabout 9 microns used for telephony and CATV withlaser sources at 1310 and 1550 nm because it haslower loss and virtually infinite bandwidth.

OM4 is a "universal medium" and supports all existingmultimode applications. With a minimum 4700MHz·km EMB bandwidth and 3500 MHz·km OFLbandwidth at 850 nm, OM4 fiber can support higherspeeds and longer distances.

OM3 or laser-optimized 50/125 µm multi-mode fiberthat meet this designation provide sufficientbandwidth to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 300meters.

OM1 62.5/125 fiber has a 62.5 micron core and a 125micron cladding. This cable supports up to 1 Gigabitapplications.
