We have worked closely with our wine partners Hallgarten Druitt & EWGA wines to ensure that we have created a wine list that is balanced, versatile and that will enhance your dining experience in our 2 Rosette Orangery. Our wine list will offer you an exciting mixture of high quality wines from around the globe, offering a balance of classic wines alongside some hidden gems.

Throughout this list you will find some of the world’s great wine growers; Gerard Bertrand from France, Saint Clair from New Zealand, Carmen from Chile and Feudi di San Gregorio from Italy to name just a few. Alongside such prestigious producers we also work closely with less well-known wineries and featured in this wine list are some superb and unique wines.

We feel the selection of wines available complement the excellent food offering at The Spa Hotel and showcases the quality and diversity of the Hallgarten Druitt & EWGA portfolio’s and most importantly offers distinctive wines that taste great.

1. Laurent-Perrier Brut NV 13 70This popular champagne is fresh, elegant and delicate with good complexity and a hint of citrus fruits.

2. Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut 92Made without the addition of the sugar dosage found in most champagnes, this delicate champagne is crisp and dry with mineral notes.

3. Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé 19 98A fine reflection of the 2004 vintage, this is a rich and rounded champagne full of character and with a silky finish.

4. Laurent-Perrier Brut Millésimé 2007 85A fine reflection of the 2004 vintage, this is a rich and rounded champagne full of character and with a silky finish.

5. Laurent-Perrier Demi-Sec 75Richly expressive, it opens with aromas of dried fruit, almonds and hazelnuts, followed by grilled and toasted aromas.

6. Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle 215Richly expressive, it opens with aromas of dried fruit, almonds and hazelnuts, followed by grilled and toasted aromas.

7. Favola, Prosecco Brut DOC, Veneto, Italy 6 29Typical strong apple and grapefruit scents with wisteria and elderberry hints. Good-structure, pleasant mouth-feel, well-balanced and harmonious.

8. Sacchetto Pinot Grigio Rosato Spumante Brut, Veneto, Italy 35Fine and continuous bubbles, this off dry sparkling wine is fruity and appealing with a floral and fresh fruity bouquet and a lingering finish.

9. Goring Estate, Goring Brut NV, Sussex, England 49An elegant, complex English sparkling wine combining a youthful purity of fruit with subtle toasty,nutty notes.

10. Les Boules Blanc, Pay d’oc, France 4.2 6 8 21This easy drinking Grenache Blanc, Vermentino and Sauvignon Blanc blend is very French, with floral and citrus notes.

11. Pinot Grigio ‘Torre dei Vescovi’ Colli Vicentini, 4.9 6.9 9.3 26Vicenze, Italy Golden yellow in colour the bouquet is delicate with complex floral notes. The wine is dry, pleasantly fresh and velvety.

12. Chéreau Carré Muscadet de Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie ‘La Griffe’, 32Loire Valley, France Straw-coloured with golden glints, very clean and bright. A clean, fresh, fine nose with pineapple, kiwi, passion fruit aromas and minerals. Rich and well structured with a pure persistent finish.

13. Mesta Organic, Uclés, Verdejo, spain 25A crisp, aromatic wine, showing great purity of aromas and a precise expression of the Verdejo variety. Fresh notes of grass, fennel and white pepper lead to a dry and refreshing palate, with excellent balance and a persistent finish with a subtle hint of minerality.

14. Domaine de L’Elite Mâcon Villages, Burgundy, France 40Pale gold colour. On the nose, floral notes of roses and lilac and fruity aromas of grapefruit. On the palate, slight Muscat flavours are lifted by fresh and balanced acidity through to a mineral finish.

15. La Forge Viognior, France 5.8 7.4 9.9 29Very elegant with notes of stone fruit and tropical fruits, combined with a slight hint of toast and oak. Rich and full-bodied, this creamy Viognier reveals intense aromas of peach and apricot.

16. San Silvestro, Gavi del Comune di Gavi DOCG 36 ‘Fossili, Piedmont, ItalyTwo traditional Greek varieties combine to give an elegant wine: the Moschofilero contributes a vibrant, floral flavour while the Roditis provides a smooth lemony character.

17. Monte Real Blanco Barrel Fermented, Spain 5.8 7.4 9.9 29Noticeable, complex, elegant varietal aromas. Good structure, warm and unctuous with good body. Very fruity with a long persistent finish.

18. Coral do Mar Albarino, Bodegas Pazo do Mar, 35Rías Baixas This estate grown and bottled Albariño shows typical stone fruit and citrus characters as well as tropical notes, all held together by a crisp backbone of clean, fresh acidity.

19. Domaine Grand roche, Chablis, Burgundy, France 50A straw yellow wine with green reflections. Intense aromas with a strong aromatic richness. It shows hints of apricot, pear and ripe exotic fruits complemented by a lemon-lime vibrancy. All perfectly blended together with its subtle flowery scent.

20. Domaine Gérard Millet Sancerre, Loire Valley, France 46Clean fruit with balanced acidity and a dry, crisp finish. Typical fresh, mineral notes on nose and palate.

21. Domaine Ferrand, Pouilly Fuissé, Burgundy, France 59Full of green plum and notes of balsamic of mint. Full in the mouth with a lively acidity and spicy minerality typical of the territory.

22. Château de Tracy, Pouilly Fumé, Loire Valley, France 64Spicy nose showing hints of fresh yellow plums and mineral carried through to the palate which has notes of butter. A well balanced and elegant style.

23. Domaine Marc Morey, St Aubin 1er Cru Le Charmois, 82Burgundy, France Citrus tones combined with minerality; long, powerful and full-flavoured

24. Domaine René Monnier, Puligny Montrachet 1er 122 Cru Les Folatières, Burgundy, France

Expressive and elegant white Burgundy with balanced oak and a lovely layered rich flavour with complementing minerality.

25. Bishops Leap, Sauvignon Blanc, 5.8 7.4 9.9 29

Marlborough, New ZealandThe special micro-climate in the Cafayate Valley is ideally suited to this variety where it develops concentrated aromas and flavours, which build from start to finish. An intriguing aroma of rose water and delicate fruit flavours of grapefruit and honey make this is a very elegant wine.

26. Miranda Chardonnay, Australia 5.4 7.1 9.6 28The palate is lean and racy, with fine natural acidity lending great length to the citrus flavours and a soft creamy texture from the time spent on the lees.

27. Tierra Antica Sauvignon Blanc, Central Valley, Chile 23An elegant and generous wine with apricot and mineral notes on the nose and palate. A refined and very fine wine with a lingering finish.

28. Berton Vineyard Metal Label Vermentino, 5.8 7.4 9.9 29South East AustraliaThis wine is pale lemon in colour and bursting with tropical fruit aromas, which follow through on to the palate. It is so refreshing with its vibrant acidity that one glass is never enough!

29. Swartland Winery, Founders Chenin Blanc, 4.7 6.5 8.9 25Perdeberg, South AfricaThis lively young wine has a vibrant flavour with luscious tropical notes and delicate undertones of wood giving complexity. Balanced acidity sustains the taste and gives freshness to the palate.

30. Saint Clair, Riesling, Marlborough, New Zealand 36Typical tropical fruit, apricots and peaches on the nose. Full bodied rich and opulent on the palate with a distinctive mid palate fruit sweetness but with good long mineral finish. Great with exotic Kerala style cuisine.

31. New hall, Bacchus, Essex, England 32Pale lemon colour with gentle floral notes and a dash of cinnamon. Off dry, with a slight ‘spritz’, and freshacidity, the palate is perfectly balanced with layers of rounded fruit. Perfect as a refreshing aperitif.

32. Saint Clair, Pinot Gris, Marlborough, New Zealand 36A full and crisp wine with intense aromas and flavours of passion fruit, blackcurrant, underlying gooseberry and herbal tones. Mouth-watering acidity is balanced by a full flavoured palate that leads to a long lingering finish.

34. Mesta Organic Rosé, Ucles, Tempranillo, Spain 23A pale delicate rosé, in a light, elegant style with fresh berry aromas and subtle floral notes with a beautifully crisp off-dry finish.

New World

35. Adriana, Zinfandel Rosé, California, USA 4.5 6.2 8.4 22A fruity rosé with flavours of strawberries and a delicate sweetness.Versatile to enjoy on its own, with spicy dishes and fruit desserts.

36. Saint Clair, Pinot Gris Rosé, Marlborough,New Zealand 35A fresh and appealing wine with flavours of cherry and redcurrant, underlying strawberries and cream tones. Fresh acidity is balanced by a round yet elegant palate that leads to a lingering finish.

37. Les Boules Rouge, Pays d’oc, France 4.2 6 8 21An easy drinking Southern French style with a fresh aroma of cherries,juicy fruit on the palate followed by a spicy finish.

38. Colli Vicentini Merlot, Veneto, Italy 4.4 6.2 8.4 22Ruby red in colour with complex and intense aromas with elegant notes of ripe red fruit, spice and vanilla hints. Smooth, elegant taste with good structure and full body.

39. Bove Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC ‘Avegiano’, Abruzzo, Italy 27Spicy with very juicy, ripe fruit with good structure, ripe tannins and lovely balance. Delicious and approachable Rhone style.

40. Xipello Tinto, Spain 32Intense dark red in colour, with aromas of ripe fruit, mineral notes and oak aging. On the palate it is gentle and sweet, with fine tannins.

41. Cantine San Marzano, Primitivo Salento IGP ‘ll Pumo’, 4.9 6.9 9.3 26Puglia, Italy A medium bodied wine with typical fruity and youthful notes. The palate is quite full, velvety and well-balanced.

42. Quasar, Rioja Crianza, Spain 5.8 7.4 9.9 29Ruby colour with soft oak and dried fruit aromas on the nose, followed by raspberries and warm earthy tones on the palate with a touch of oak on the finish. Good integration of tannins and fruit make this a rich, smooth, balanced wine.

43. Bonacchi Chianti Riserva DOCG, Tuscany, Italy 29Ruby colour with soft oak and dried fruit on the nose, raspberries and warm earthy tones on the palate followed by a touch of oak on the finish. Good integration of tannins and fruit.

44. Château Boutisse Ac St Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France 61Intense aromas of black cherry and floral notes, round and elegant on the palate.

45. Casa del Valle, El Tidon Tinto, 22Cabernet Sauvignon tempranillo, Castilla, Spain Warm, earthy and mellow aromas with spice and ripe blackberry fruit with toasted wood in the background. Fruity and smooth.

46. Domaine Pierre Naigeon, Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, 130Burgundy, France A classic vintage with aromas of dried fruit, roses and tar. Expressive aromatics with lots of minerality and a very long finish. A wine that will age well.

47. Ca’Rugate, Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore DOC, Veneto, Italy 41 Dry and velvety with an intense bouquet and a supple, lingering finish.

48. Château de Grand Pré, Fleurie, Beaujolais, France 40A very elegant wine with a floral bouquet of violets and roses, leading through to velvety palate of wild strawberries combined with a hint of liquorice and spice.

49. Roccolo Grassi Amarone DOCG, Veneto, Italy 148A warm, intense bouquet of mocha and sweet spices. The palate shows full body with fine yet firm tannins, explosive black cherry fruit, all encased in the subtle vanillin flavours of new oak.

50. Quasar, Gran Reserva Rioja, Spain 42Complex aromas of black cherries, spices and integrated oak.An excellent partner to game, grilled meats and cheese.

51. San Silvestro, Barolo DOCG ‘Patres’, Piedmont. Italy 59Medium bodied with a bright, ruby red colour. The classic Veronese red wine aromas of cherries, almonds and herbs carry through to the palate where they are balanced by an underlying firmness and bittersweet vein.

52. Domaine de la Solitude, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge, 69 Rhône Valley, France

Deep ruby red with brick hues, this mature wine shows aromatic complexity of red berries, liquorice and hints of smokiness with earthy and savoury notes. The flavour is smooth, long and with good backbone.

53. Château Pichon Baron, 2eme cru classe, Pauillac, France 192A lovely, lightly perfumed nose with the appealing fruit aromas of blackcurrant and notes of cedar, Minerally, gravel and violets. The fruit in the mouth is forward and surprisingly powerful.

54. Head Over Heels Shiraz, Australia 4.7 6.5 8.9 25A wine that offers an abundance of expressive aromas, predominantly of blackberry and plums along with toasty sweet oak.

55. Viña Edmara Casablanca, Pinot Noir, Chile 4.9 6.9 9.3 26This wine shows a seductive and complex combination of black cherry and raspberry aromas, rose petals and violets, mingled with a soft touch of vanilla and coconut. Full-bodied and rich, with a soft and velvety texture.

56. Doña Paula, Lujan de Cuyo, Malbec, Argentina 4.9 6.9 9.3 26A full flavoured Malbec with sweet, spicy and intense aromas of ripe red fruits through a soft and velvety palate with a rich finish of tarragon and rosemary.

57. Swartland Winery, Bush Vines Pinotage, 37Babylons Peak, South Africa Intriguing earthy and almost savoury aromas, followed by refreshing red berries and plums. A medium wine with dark berry fruit, well-structured, medium tannins and a beautiful balance. The wine is made in a classic, traditional style with a good balance between oak and fruit.

58. Saddle Creek, Shiraz Cabernet, South East Australia 4.5 6.3 8.6 23Smooth with coffee and cedar notes - a classically styled Bordeaux from this esteemed estate in St Julien.

59. Raymond Family Classic, Cabernet Sauvignon, 55California, USA Intense blackcurrants and eucalyptus on the nose, jammy fruits on the palate, velvety smooth tannins with a long, intense finish.

60. Piattelli, Malbec Tannat, Cafayate, Argentina 38Intense and deeply coloured with hues of violet and contours of black that create a fierce scarlet colour, this wine shows spicy and ripe red fruit aromas enhanced by eucalyptus and fig notes. A wine with great impact, combining its ripe, firm and intense tannins, with a bold structure, balancing acidity and a long, persistent finish.

61. Michele Chiarlo, Moscato d’asti DOCG ‘Nivole’, Piedmont, Italy 23A rich, delicate and well-balanced dessert wine from the Muscat grape.Gently sparkling, the fruit dances lightly on the tongue.

62. Ca’Rugate Recioto della Valpolicalla DOC L’Eremita, Veneto, Italy 7.5 54Dark intense ruby red in colour. On the nose it shows black fruit and berry notes, with hints of wildherbs and spice. The palate is sweet, luscious, rounded and balanced by velvety tannins.

63. Quady, Essensia Orange Muscat, California, USA 4.4 26Vibrant orange in colour, this wine delivers luscious sweet oranges and apricots on the palate. The bittersweet orange marmalade notes balance well with the zesty citric acidity.

64. Saint Clair Awatere Valley Reserve Noble Riesling, 5.5 38Marlborough, New Zealand The palate has a luscious texture and notes of pear and stone fruit with a long lingering honey and lemon zesty finish.

65. Quady, Starboard Batch 88, California, USA 4.3 50Rich and spicy, port-like wine with luscious ripe blackberry, raisin and chocolate truffle flavours on the palate and a fine acidity and soft tannins.

66. Barros Late Bottled Vintage, Douro Valley, Portugal 4.9 60Aromas of fresh mint and orange peel with a richly sweet palate backed by a honeyed finish. “A taste of sunshine”.

67. Barros Colheita 1996, Douro Valley, Portugal 7.2 87Rich and spicy, Port-like wine, with concentration and character, with deep plum and violet hues and luscious ripe raisin and chocolate flavours on the palate.

68. Barros Colheita 20 Year Tawny, Portugal 11 100Rich and complex combination of dried fruits, spices and subtle hints of wood. Elegant, well-structured and full-bodied, with a long and engaging finish.
