what might be wrong with the

FAMILIES GIVING THEIR LIVES ENTIRELY
OVER TO JESUS
Thoughts from Laura for
your family
The 40 days of Lent have ended and the joy
and new life Jesus brings is here! How will
you celebrate within your family? Talk
about the sacrifices you made together out
of love for Jesus did you give up some-
thing as a family for Lent? Did you do some
community service together during Lent? Did you fill a
Catholic Relief Services Operaon Rice Bowl with
donaons together? All our Lenten disciplines of prayer,
fasng and giving are meant to lead us closer to Jesus
AND are meant to form beNer habits in us. What is some-
thing you will connue to do as a family of intenonal
disciples? Will you keep sacrificing a treat so that you can
give to the church when you come to Mass? Will you cel-
ebrate the life Jesus brings to your family by commi/ng
to spend me as a family each week unplugged no cell
phones, TVs or earbuds, just me with each other at a
park, on a hike, playing a game, cooking a meal together.
Alleluia, Jesus has risen! How will you let Him raise your
family to new life this Easter Season?!! !

LIFE TEEN & CONFIRMATION!
CONFIRMATION AND
YOUTH MINISTRY FAMILIES !
Our vision for Youth Ministry here is simple. We plan to
journey alongside our youth so that we both may hear
Jesus’ call to discipleship, give our lives to Him, and join in
His mission for the salvaon of souls. In short, we are not
here to administer a program, rather we are here to form
a community of intenonal disciples. We will focus on the
four aNributes of faith formaon: the spiritual,
intellectual, human, and pastoral. !
CONFIRMATION
• Our Confirmaon program here is about beginning a
lifelong relaonship with Christ which in turn allows
Him to work through each of our gi!s, talents, and
treasures. We wish to form young disciples who in
turn will usher in new saints in our church. !
• Confirmaon L1 Discernment interviews will be held
April 28, May 2, and 7. Times and dates for your
individual teen will be emailed to you. !
UPCOMING EVENTS (All ques$ons regarding events below, please contact Rene Rubalcava.)
• All High school aged teens are invited to join us in the Teen Lo! every Wednesday night starng at 6 pm for fun, !
fellowship, and Mass. We are open ll 9 pm. We invite teens to bring games, Xbox One games, or even homework! !
• We are in need of volunteers to help run our teen Lo! on Wednesday nights. If you are over the age of 18 and not
in high school we could use your help. Please contact the Youth Ministry Office.!
• There will be NO LIFE TEEN Saturday, March 31. We pray that your Easter Triduum will be a time of blessing and
renewal as we celebrate the risen Christ. Thank you, all parents and volunteers that have helped to keep our ministry,
running this season!
Life Teen is an internaonal Catholic ministry that serves the Church and its young people. Life Teen leads high school

HAPPY EASTER!
Easter is the celebration of Christ's resurrection from the dead. It is celebrated this year on
Sunday, April 1st, and marks the end of Lent, the end of Holy Week, the last day of the Easter
Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday), and is the beginning of the Easter
season of the liturgical year.
As we know from the Gospels, Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day following His
crucifixion. His resurrection marks the triumph of good over evil, sin, and death. It is the singular
greatest event proving that those who trust in God and accept Christ will be raised from the dead.
Since Easter represents the fulfillment of God's promises to humankind, it is the most important
holiday on the Christian calendar. Jesus Christ, the incarnation of God's mercy, died on the
cross, and out of love for us rose again from the dead.
That is why we proclaim today and every day: JESUS IS LORD!
His resurrection fulfils the prophecy of the Psalm: God's mercy endures forever; it never dies. "O
give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever" (Ps 135:1) The Lord Jesus,
He is our peace (Eph 2:14) by His resurrection, draws us closer on this Easter feast to the
victims of terrorism throughout the world. May he draw us closer to those affected by the
devastation of natural disasters throughout the world, especially here in Southern California.
May he make us more aware of the victims of abortion and clarify our awareness of the sanctity of
all human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death. May the message of
life, proclaimed by the Angel beside the overturned stone of the tomb, overcome hardened hearts
and promote peaceful and fruitful encounters of peoples and cultures in all areas of the world.
May this Easter season be a holy and rewarding time for you!
On behalf of Msgr. Michael Slattery, Fr. Gabriel Kang, Fr. Mike Grieco, Deacon Ed Littleton
and the Saint Kateri Staff, I wish you the most blessed of Easter Seasons!
Deacon Bob Seidler,
Administrator Pro Tempore
