BOARD MEETING Rene, Mike, Marilyn and Fred met at Myron’s home. While the pizza was savored Myron gave us a rundown on his trip to close on their retirement home. He will be around until, at least, August and will hopefully serve out most of his term in office. Fred has finally sent along the scholarship money for Erin Mathews, Mauricio has written but has not yet made arrangements for his share. Marilyn will contact him again. This has accounted for the large amount of money in the fund. Fred will break down the figure to what is available for scholarship and what is committed to prizes, old scholarships and operating expense. Chelo’s menu will be a little different for the Gala. We will have a bartender. Bring a wrapped gift and take a gift will be tried. Mike is getting closer to finishing the application for a 401 3c nonprofit status. We still need a Recording Secretary and will ask for a volunteer. Members are asked to make suggestions for speakers in the coming year. The Board wishes everyone a wonderful holiday season and looks forward to seeing you next year.

EVENTS
HOLIDAY GALA Our Holiday Gala is being held on the regular Tuesday meeting night. This has been very popular. Bring a wrapped gift and take a gift. This is to allow the officers to have a good time, too. The final drawings will take place at the Gala December 9th. Tickets will be available until the final drawing at the door. Thank you for your support of our Scholarship Fund. The biggest problem is getting a fairly (within +/- 10) accurate count. Please let me know if you will be attending. We are very grateful to Chelo’s for their patience, and we would like to have a count that is at least close to what is submitted. Old and new friends enjoy this get-together so mark your calendar and join us, it’s a good time to be had by all

Every Saturday Morning - KUUU Pilot's Breakfast Tickets Bar and Restaurant, Middleton 08:15 If you fly in - check at the maintenance hangar for a ride no later than 08:00 We did not have digital radar in the TRACON 25 years ago when I was an air traffic controller. With our analog radar, spring and fall waterfowl migrations of ducks, geese, and cranes always created a cluster of raw radar returns on the scope… Delta checks on with the standard information arriving the airport. ... DAL 123: "XXX approach, this is DAL 123 descending out of 8,000 with information Bravo. Direct the VOR." ... Approach (me): "DAL123, XXX approach. Traffic 12 o'clock, five miles opposite direction, altitude unknown. Multiple targets, most likely waterfowl." ... DAL: "Approach, how do you know that? Do they have a transponder?" ... Approach: "DAL 123, no sir, but they are squawking!" (From Short Final)
