The Vecinos y Amigos de Marina de Casares, being a club within the “Casares Costa”, were kindly invited on the 27 April to celebrate the Women’s Day Tea Party in the beautifully refurbished offi ces of the Ayuntamiento, which are situated in Marina de Casares.The club is hoping that one day they will be offered the chance to share their facilities, as most of the members reside on the Casares Costa.The club had its fi rst “Lunch Club” outing on 10 May, with 32 sitting down to a good and very resonably priced lunch.

This month the new Tenencia de Alcaldía de Casares Costa council offi ces opened to the public. The offi ces occupy some 300 square metres of the Marina de Casares Commercial Centre.The new offi ce will deal with all council matters previously attended to by the old offi ce situated in ‘the pepperpot’ which is now closed.

El trabajo comenzó el lunes pasado, en la Avenida del Ejército (junto a la Alameda Alfonso XI) una vez recibida la orden de la Junta Electoral de Zona, a raíz de una denuncia del Partido Popular. Cada partido tiene asignada por la Junta Electoral una serie de puntos para instalar su cartelería de cara a los comicios del 22 de mayo. Sin embargo, diversas formaciones no han respetado esta asignación, y los carteles han proliferado
por todo San Roque de manera indiscriminada, especialmente en farolas. El PP denunció los hechos al constatar la situación y al encontrarse que vaRíos de los puntos que le habían correspondido estaban ocupados por otros partidos.La Junta Electoral de Zona ha fallado a su favor, y ha ordenado al Ayuntamiento a la retirada inmediata de la cartelería colocada en los lugares no asignados. Según la resolución de este órgano, el coste de estos trabajos deberá ser asumido luego por las formaciones políticas infractoras de sus disposiciones.

Entrevista Con Emilio López BerenguerASM ManilvaA continuación le preguntamos sobre la campaña del ASM MANILVA.
1º.- Si es elegido Alcalde, ¿Cuál va a ser su proyecto principal para los próximos 4 años?Nosotros tenemos la seguridad de que la ASM va a ser , sin duda, la lista electoral más votada en las próximas elecciones municipales del 22 de Mayo, por ello estamos preparados para asumir el mayor de los retos para los próximos 4 años y que no es otro, que recuperar el desarrollo económico para nuestro municipio. Desarrollo económico que permita la creación inmediata de Empleo y de Trabajo para nuestros vecinos. En resumen, el pilar básico de nuestro programa va a ser y será, con un compromiso serio como solo la ASM sabe hacerlo, el de la creación de empleo y de trabajo, a través de fomentar, facilitar y recuperar el desarrollo económico2º.- ¿Cómo se podría mejorar la promoción de Manilva como una zona turística y atraer nuevas empresas al municipio?Nuestra economía pasa irremediablemente por el sector servicios y el sector turismo. Pero en un mundo cada vez más competitivo en materia de oferta turística, el proximo gobierno de la ASM, va a demostrar, tal y como ya lo hizo en otras ocasiones, que somos los únicos capaces de tener ideas avanzadas y atrevidas de promoción de nuestro municipio. Promoción que se basará en la limpieza impoluta de Manilva, en el embellecimiento de todo nuestro término, en la seguridad ciudadana y en una oferta de ocio y cultural que sea envidia de toda la Costa del Sol.. Así sobre las bases de seguridad ciudadana, limpieza, embellecimiento y oferta de ocio y cultural, hacer una promoción en los mercados clásicos de turismo: Gran Bretaña, Irlanda, Alemania, Italia etc y en los nuevos y emergentes mercados como son los de la Europa del Este, los países del Golfo Pérsico e incluso en mercado oriental con China y Japón como banderas. Sin olvidar la promoción específi ca de Golf y deportes náuticos.
3º.- ¿Cómo se podría ayudar, en general, a las empresas y empresaRíos/empresarias del municipio de Manilva?Para mí, como futuro Alcalde y para la ASM, en este tema lo más importante es la participación directa y efectiva en la toma de decisiones municipales, de los empresaRíos/empresarias locales, y contar con técnicos independientes altamente cualifi cados que busquen soluciones efi caces a la grave crisis en la que nos han sumido los gobiernos actuales del PSOE e IU. El sector productivo de Manilva: empresaRíos, industriales e inversores, deben tener las puertas abiertas del gobierno municipal para ser escuchados. Como Alcalde, y eso es una promesa fi rme a cumplir en los primeros 30 días de gobierno, crearé un Consejo Económico, formado por todos los sectores que sean capaces de generar riqueza y empleo, que dé una manera absolutamente independiente y aporte las ideas necesarias para la recuperación económica..4º.- Con el hecho de que el 40 % de la población de Manilva son extranjeros ¿creéis que están bien representados?En mi opinión, no. Creo que no están bien representados., Muchos partidos colocan en sus listas a personas de nacionalidad no española, solamente como “adorno” para la candidatura. Solo hay que ver las listas electorales. Mi partido, la ASM y yo mismo, hemos hecho una gran apuesta en este tema , llevando dos extranjeros entre los 17 candidatos de la lista, uno en el número 6, puesto con muchas probabilidades de salir electo como concejal y otro ciudadano no español en el número 14, en nuestro caso son originaRíos de Bulgaria y de Italia. Pero no van en la lista por ser extranjeros, sino por ser ciudadanos de Manilva con inquietudes y con ganas de trabajar y luchar por una Manilva mejor. Cabe recordar que la primera formación política en Manilva en llevar ciudadanos no españoles en su candidatura, fue la ASM, que en este tema como en tantos otros hemos sido innovadores y pioneros.
5.- ¿Creéis que es posible aportar más y mejorar el sistema educativo en Manilva?Sin duda. Para la ASM, a pesar de que la educación es una competencia de la Junta de Andalucía. El futuro gobierno municipal, tiene que ser imaginativo e innovador en este tema. NO vale malgastar el dinero público en asunto de dudosa rentabilidad. En educación y en Cultura, hay que ser muy valiente y apostar muy alto. No se pueden dar respuestas del siglo pasado a los problemas del siglo XXI. MI gobierno va a apostar muy fuerte por la educación bilingüe, los programas europeos de intercambio y de formación fuera de nuestro país, por la formación profesional efectiva. Al igual que en desarrollo económico, el gobierno de la ASM próximo, creará en los primeros 30 días el Consejo Municipal en Educación y Cultura, con la participación de los profesores, alumnos, padres y madres, y colectivos especiales como son los de los ciudadanos extranjeros.Para terminar esta entrevista quisiera hacer llegar especialmente al colectivo de residentes extranjeros en Manilva, la seguridad de que la ASM y yo mismo, vamos a gobernar para todos y con todos.. Sin exclusiones, sin favoritos, sin siglas de partido que nos obliguen y sin dependencias absurdas a políticas ajenas a nuestro pueblo. Pensamos en el nuevo reto que se nos presenta de dar respuesta a los compromisos fi rmes que en estos momentos asumimos.. Manilva, volverá a ser en los próximos cuatro años, referente de progreso, modernidad, de innovación y de escrupuloso respeto a la legalidad vigente.

If elected as Mayor, what is your main project for the next 4 years?We are confi dent that the ASM will undoubtedly receive the most votes in the forthcoming election on May 22, and so we are preparing to tackle the greatest challenge for the coming four years which is to oversee the recovery of Manilva’s economic development. Economic development that will see the immediate creation of employment and work for our citizens. In short, the mainstay of our programme will be, and with a commitment that only the ASM knows how to make, the creation of jobs through the promotion and restoration of Manilva’s economic development.2. How would you better promote Manilva as a tourist destination and attract new business to the town?Our economy is irrevocably tied to the service and tourism sectors. But in an increasingly competitive world in terms of tourism, the next ASM government will show, as it did in the past, that we are the only ones who have advanced and daring ideas on how to promote our municipality.Promotion will be based on the pristine cleanliness of Manilva, on the beautifi cation of the entire area, on public security, and cultural and leisure infrastructure that will be the envy of the Costa del Sol. So based on safety, cleanliness, beauty and cultural leisure, we will target the traditional tourism markets of, Britain, Ireland, Germany, Italy, etc., as well as the new and emerging markets such as Eastern Europe, the Persian Gulf, and even China and Japan, all this along with the
specialist markets of golf and watersports.3. What will you do to help in general Manilva’s companies, businesspeople and entrepreneurs?For me as future mayor of Manilva, and for the ASM in general, this topic is one of the most important that there is direct and effective participation in the decision making of municiaplity on behalf of the business community, by appointing a highly qualifi ed and independent specialist to seek effective solutions to the serious economic crisis to which the current government has brought us.Manilva’s manufacturers, businessmen and investors should have a voice, and for this as Mayor of Manilva I will make a fi rm promise to create, within 30 days, an Economic Council, comprising representatives of sectors of the local economy, which will be able to generate wealth and employment and contribute ideas and proposals for an economic recovery.4. With around 40% of Manilva’s population being foreigners, do you believe they are well represented?In my opinion, no. I don’t believe they are well represented at all. Many parties put on their lists a non-Spaniard, purely for ‘decoration’. The ASM has made a commitment on this matter by appointing two foreigners to our list of 17, one at number 6 giving them a high probability of being elected, and another at number 14; these two candidates being one Bulgarian and one Italian.But we look on them not as foreigners, but as citizens of Manilva, with the same concerns and willingness to fi ght for a better Manilva as the rest of us. It should also be remembered that the fi rst political party to appoint a non-Spanish candidate to the list was the
ASM, a matter in which the ASM, as with so many others, have been pioneers and innovators.5. Do you think that you can do more to improve the education system in Manilva?No doubt! Even though education is the responsibility of the Andalucian regional government, the future local authority needs to approach this area with imagination and innovation. It is not worth wasting public money for a doubtful return, in education and culture it is necessary to be brave and aim high, you cannot apply 20th Century answers to 21st Century problems. My goverment is strongly in favour of bilingual education, European exchange programmes and training outside of Spain. For effective training, just as with economic development, the ASM will creat within 30 days of government and Education and Culture Council with participation from teachers, students, parents and special interest groups, such as foreigners.To conclude this interview I would like to convey to Manilva’s foreign community, their security with an ASM government led by myself, and that we will govern for everybody, with everybody, without exception, and with no favourites. Being an independent party we have no outside pressures from national parties forcing us to adopt absurd policies in accordance with the party line.We believe that the challenge before us can be faced with a fi rm commitment from us and that in the next four years Manilva will become a benchmark for progress, modernisation, innovation and a scrupulous respect for the law.

El domingo 1 de mayo el recién ampliado rocódromo municipal, ubicado en el pabellón de las viñas, acogió el Primer Torneo de Escalada “Villa de Manilva”.Sin duda, una interesante cita para todos los amantes de este deporte alternativo.Se trataba de una novedad en el calendario deportivo de este municipio, que fue impulsada por la Delegación de Juventud y Deportes en colaboración con la asociación de escalada Grucam.Este torneo se llevó a cabo bajo la modalidad de “bloque” y estuvo destinado a las categorías infantil, juvenil y senior.Según el concejal de deportes, Diego Urieta, la participación de 20 miembros de la asociación manilveña Grucam, de los que ocho pertenecen a la escuela municipal de escalada y contar con más de 70 escaladores ha sido un éxito para esta primera convocatoria en esta disciplina deportiva.Como no podía ser de otra manera, también participó el actual líder de la clasifi cación del campeonato de Andalucía de escalada, el manilveño Rogelio Pascual, entre otros deportistas destacados en el ámbito autonómico.Después de demostrar estos buenos
deportistas sus habilidades en la pared, se llevó a cabo el acto de entrega de trofeos a los vencedores y material deportivo para los tres mejores de cada categoría.
On Sunday 1 May, Manilva’s newly extended climbing wall, situated in the Las Viñas Sports Pavillion was the setting for the I Manilva Climbing Tournament, a new event in Manilva’s sporting calendar and organised by the Manilva Sports and Youth Department in collaboration with the Grucam climbing association.The tournament took the form of a ‘block’ competition and was open to climbers in
I Manilva Climbing Tournamentthe children’s, junior, women’s and senior categories.Over eighty climbers from across Andalucia took part including 20 Grucam climbers, eight of which train with Manilva’s municipal climbing school.Taking the top honours was local climber, Rogelio Pascual, who is currently leader of the Andalucian Climbing Championships.

He was always engrossed in prayer but according to legend his workload was taken on by angels so as to leave hin time for his devotions, must remember that one!The Romeria or pilgrimage was held at the Ermita San Isidro at the Las Pedregales park on Sunday, 8h May, and drew thousands of Esteponeros who came to
the park to party and celebrate their patron saint with picnics, barbecues, and a few drinks!The saint’s day San Isidro Labrador is actually celebrated on the 15th May, which this year falls on Sunday, and this is traditionally accompanied by a feria with celebrations, competitions, processions throughout the town and a funfair at the fairground. This year’s feria runs from Wednesday 11th to Sunday the 15th when the feria will reach its fi nale with a fi rework display.Worth noting also is that Monday, 16th is a local holiday in Estepona so expect many of the shops and businesses to be closed.

Los ratoncillos molestarían mucho a los habitantes de esta cuadra si esta perra no se encargara de espantarlos. El animal tiene cuatro años y es «ratonero mallorquín». José Luis, su dueño, quiere aumentar la raza, que no está muy expandida, y con este objetivo le ha comprado un compañero, Duque, de ocho meses. Su relación es entrañable y José Luis espera conseguir pronto lo que se propone: que sus perros tengan algún día cachorritos.

Sponsored WalkOn a beautiful day Age Concern held its recent sponsored walk in Sabanillas and Manilva. Backed by Ibex Insurance some walkers tackled the long walk from Sabanillas sea front up through the Manilva Gorge for part of the way and across to Manilva before returning to Sabanillas. This was a different route to the one originally planned because recent rains made that walk unsafe. La Alcaldesa Antonia Muñoz (IU) y el Concejal Mario Jiménez (IU) realizaron un balance sobre el estado actual de las obras en el municipio, centrándose fundamentalmente en el aparcamiento en Pozo del Rey, la instalación de contenedores soterrados, el Centro de raquetas de Maicandil, la remodelación de Padre Mariano y la fi nalización de la nave junto al LIDL.Con respecto al aparcamiento, que se construirá en el casco urbano de Manilva, ambos se mostraron muy esperanzados de que sirva para el relanzamiento de la economía local puesto que se trata de una obra que cuenta con un presupuesto de 2.200.000 € y que supondrá la creación de 162 plazas de aparcamiento en dos niveles, culminada con una gran zona de ocio en superfi cie para jóvenes y mayores.Esta actuación dijeron, se enmarca dentro del plan de recuperación de zonas urbanas deprimidas y supondrá una gran inyección a la economía local puesto que permitirá la creación de puestos de trabajo.En segundo lugar anunciaron la conclusión de la instalación de ocho baterías de contenedores soterrados, divididas en tres baterías en Manilva, otras tres en Sabinillas y dos más en el Castillo de la Duquesa. Con el objetivo de mejorar fuertemente la imagen de Manilva dotando al término de una mayor salubridad.En cuanto a la actividad deportiva se refi ere, ambos Ediles destacaron la próxima licitación de del centro de raquetas de Sabinillas. En cuanto a la inversión de estas obras, que se estima que den comienzo a fi nales de este año, será de 1.120.000 euros.Por lo que se refi ere a la mejora de viales, se repasó el comienzo de las obras de Padre Mariano, algo que será realidad en el plazo de una semana que supondrá la continuación de las actuaciones en el plan de acondicionamiento de caminos rurales. Recordemos que eran muchos los vecinos que solicitaban la mejora de este carril. Con esta actuación se reformará la acometida de agua o el soterramiento de las líneas de luz y teléfono, siendo su presupuesto total de 28.500 € En cuanto a la recuperación de zonas verdes, se mostraron especialmente orgullosos de la obra que se viene realizando para el acondicionamiento y mejora del Arroyo Perales, en Sabinillas, un tramo que dará viabilidad al trayecto y salida a las calles ubicadas en el Duque y que permitirá que el recorrido del arroyo, que se encontraba en unas condiciones lamentables de suciedad y escombros, sea un parque amplio, con recorridos para pasear, puentes de madera que cruzan las orillas, bancos y material mobiliario.Finalmente concluyeron con la construcción de la nave de 800 metros cuadrados para usos múltiples junto al Lidl, trabajos, que fueron adjudicados a la empresa Siderúrgica Rondeña, y que suponen la puesta en valor de esta zona y el rescate de la parcela para bien municipal ya que por una parte, se acondiciona una zona que estaba inutilizada y por otro se puede prestar un servicio a la ciudadanía en esta zona costera.

The Mayoress, Antonia Muñoz, and Councillor Mario Jiménez recently conducted an assessment of the current state of the various works currently being undertaken in Manilva, focussing primarily on the Pozo del Rey car park, installation of underground rubbish containers, Maicandil Racquets Centre, remodelling of the Padre Mariano, and the completion of the unit next to Lidl.The Pozo del Rey car park in Manilva Town will help to relaunch the local economy, with its 162 parking spaces on two levels topped off with a children’s play area, this 2,200,000 euro project is part of the recovery plan for urban centres and will be a major injection for the local economy as well as creating new jobs.In recent days the installation of underground rubbish bins in eight locations throughout the municipality; three in Manilva, three in Sabinillas, and two in Castillo de la Duquesa was completed. These go a long way to improve the image of the area as well as being more hygienicAs for sport, both stressed the importance of the upcoming bid process for the Racquet Centre in Sabinillas. Located in the Maicandil area, this 7,826 square metre plot will feature 6 padel courts, a squash court, a badminton court and two tennis courts. The centre will also boast a cafeteria, viewing areas, fi tness room, and children’s play area. Asimismo y de forma inminente se va a dar comienzo al asfaltado y mejora de la calle situada en la entrada de la urbanización, a la recogida de las aguas pluviales y a la señalización generalizada de la urbanización. Under the banner of the Manilva Foreign Resident Department’s highly successful “Know your Town” scheme, the Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz (IU), met with the Councillor for Foreign Residents, Diego Urieta (IU), and the Presidents of thirty communities of owners in Manilva.The object of the meeting was to learn at fi rst hand the concerns of local residents, and to gauge their opinion of the works and improvements carried out during the past four years.
Great turnout for the InternationalFamily DayThe Manilva International Family Day, organised by the Foreigners Department of the Association of Western Costa del Sol Municipalities (Mancomunidad), headed by the Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz, brought together people of all ages and nationalities to share a day of fun and entertainment in the Parque de Huertos in Castillo de la Duquesa.The event proved a huge success with lots of people enjoying the children’s games, bouncy castles, art exhibitions, craft market and the free paella. There were also a number of stands selling food from different countries all at a reasonable

After the meeting the presidents were treated to a guided tour of all the local infrastructure including: the Sabinillas Sports Complex, The Manilva Sports Centre, the parks of Las Viñas, El Duque, Villa Matilde, El Goleto, and El Huerto in Castillo.The Presidents congratulated the Mayoress on her achievements and suggested a number of projects for the coming term, before fi nally wishing her success in the coming elections on May 22.

Son derechos que muchas personas no conocían pero que ya están siendo informadas a marchas forzadas.La integración de los colectivos es un reto importante, pero apasionante. En este sentido estamos realizando encuestas a la ciudadanía para detectar las defi ciencias en nuestro día a día, parece imposible pero en relación a los extranjeros, nuestro principal objetivo es convertirlos en una familia.

In a recent interview with The Resident, Diego Urieta (IU), Councillor for two of the key departments in the municipality of Manilva - Foreigners and Citizen Participation, discussed the progress during the current administration which reaches its conclusion at the end of the week.“Our main objectives have been to further the integration of the foreign population, for which we have spared no effort, with activities such as tours, lectures, exhibitions, along with the expansion of the Foreign Residents Department, to assist with any problems they may face, particular in dealing with the local authorities.”“Our priority for the next term is to create an advice bureau aimed at foreign residents and community matters. We know it is a gamble, but as Councillor for Foreigners and Citizen Participation, we must empower the residents to improve their quality of life, making them aware of their rights and the possibilities available to them.”“We must also remember that Manilva enjoys facilities which allow some 2,300 people each day to enjoy a range of sporting activities, and that those registered as over 65 can enjoy free use of the gym regardless of their nationality. The Social Welfare department has also been busy raising
awarenesss regarding the Law of Dependency that can provide assistance for many elderly residents, who were previously unaware of it.”“Integration is always a challenge, but an exciting one at that. We are constantly conducting public surveys to identify weaknesses and gaps in the service that we offer, our main objective being to create a single community within the municipality of Manilva.
Alcaldía y Hacienda sigue recortando gastos en el consistorioEn cifras totales se ha ahorrado en gastos que no merman los servicios municipales tales como telefonía fi ja 72.602 euros, 55.000 en móviles, dietas de los concejales 475 euros, locomoción de políticos 1628 euros, gastos de autopista 9625 euros, atenciones protocolarias 67.977 euros y fi estas y festejos 215690 euros. Más de 420.000 euros.En relación al 2009 se han ahorrado 30.000 euros.El análisis económico-fi nanciero realizado por la delegación municipal de Economía y Hacienda del Ayuntamiento de Manilva arroja datos reveladores conforme al ahorro municipal llevado a cabo por el equipo de gobierno en los últimos años. Para el concejal delegado de Economía y Hacienda, Diego Díaz, estos últimos años se está recogiendo el fruto de toda la política de ahorro establecida desde la llegada al poder el pasado año 2007. Además, añade el edil, se están reduciendo gastos de los que podría denominarse superfl uos, ya que en ningún momento se está experimentando merma alguna de los servicios municipales.Según ha explicado la alcaldesa de Manilva, Antonia Muñoz, estas cifras son fruto de una gestión ímproba por parte del equipo de gobierno que ella se honra en dirigir, ya que de no haber sido así, habría sido prácticamente imposible ir abonando las nóminas de los trabajadores municipales de forma puntual, salvo escasas excepciones, así como ir pagando a los proveedores del Ayuntamiento.No obstante, añade la presidenta de la corporación municipal manilveña, ahora más que nunca se debe continuar con la política de austeridad, tratando de reducir los gastos superfl uos a la mínima expresión y adaptar los gastos del Ayuntamiento a lo que el ciudadano de Manilva puede pagar sin que los servicios que se prestan sufran ninguna merma.En este sentido se sigue realizando un gran esfuerzo para que la gestión municipal continúe, para pagar las nóminas, para pagar a los proveedores y además, teniendo que seguir sufragando una gran cantidad de servicios que no son, o no deberían ser, de competencia municipal.No debemos olvidar que, las arcas municipales han asumido servicios que son de competencia autonómica como:300.000 € correspondientes a los servicios de Urgencias médicas, ambulancia y atención mayores 65 años.200.000 € Escuela de Música de ámbito comarcal.Además de las Escuelas Deportivas, las tres guarderías municipales y la limpieza de los ocho kilometros de playas durante todo el año.Y que el Ayuntamiento ha pagado obras que debería haber ejecutado la Junta de Andalucía como:2 millones de euros para la apertura del Centro de Salud de Sabinillas4,5 millones de euros, de un total de 8 millones, para la construcción del polideportivo cubierto de Sabinillas.800.000 euros para la construcción de Iglesia y Guardería en El Castillo2 millones de euros para la ejecución de diversas obras de competencia autonómica.

to cut council costsSavings have been made in the council’s running costs without any reduction in the level of service.These include reductions of 72,602€ in fi xed line phone calls and 55,000€ in mobile costs, 475€ in councillors’ allowances, 1,628€ in travel costs, and 9,625€ in toll charges. 67,977€ has been cut from the civic hospitality budget, and a 215,690€ reduction in the costs of ferias and fi estas. In all a total of 420,000 euros in savings, 30,000€ more than in 2009.Despite these encouraging fi gures, Manilva’s Treasury Councillor, Diego Diaz, has said that they will continue to cut unnecessary costs, whilst ensuring that they meet their obligations to the payroll and suppliers despite being saddled with expenses that should be borne by the regional authorities, such as: 300,000€ for emergency medical services, ambulance and care of the over 65s; 200,000€ for the Music School; also the cost of the sports schools, nursery schooling and the cleaning of Manilva’s beaches.The Town Hall have also paid 2 million euros on the Sabinillas health centre, 4.5 million euros on the Sabinillas Sports Centre and 800,000 euros on the construction of the church. All of which should have been funded from regional sources.

La Alcaldesa de Manilva, Antonia Muñoz presentó el pasado 30 de marzo un recurso contencioso administrativo en la Audiencia Nacional contra el deslinde aprobado defi nitivamente por orden ministerial de 2 de octubre de 2009 y que comprende desde el extremo norte de la urbanización la Borboleta hasta el Término municipal de Casares.Con su presentación se culmina un proceso que se inició el 29 de noviembre de 2007 con el acto de apeo y que prosiguió con una multitud de reuniones tanto en la Demarcación de Costas como en la Dirección General de Fondos Marinos con un resultado infructuoso.El citado recurso se fundamenta entre otros aspectos en que la Orden Ministerial que inició el expediente de deslinde nunca llegó a publicarse, en los derechos preexistentes de los asentamientos, así como en otro tipo de fundamentos

La primera edil manilveña continuó su exposición haciendo referencia a la ciudadanía: “Los vecinos saben de primera mano que no nos vamos a rendir y que nos vamos a alinear con ellos hasta el fi nal. Si es necesario fl etaremos autobuses y nos plantaremos en Madrid pero no vamos a consentir que nos toquen Sabinillas o El Castillo.” fi nalizó.

Borrowing against your home and reducing inheritance taxes?There is some well founded adverse publicity relating to equity releases and unsafe investments which are entered into with the aim of offsetting the charges on inheritance taxes. There are numerous and some questionable offers on methods to obtain funds and lower these dues. For this reason and not surprisingly, interested parties may not know the correct route to take. I often talk about unauthorised fi nancial advisers and the possible risks of investing in some of these schemes on offer. The options should be chosen wisely. Attempts to balance taxes on properties at the lower end of the property market are not usually viable as the excise will be either minimal or you may fi nd you have nothing to pay at all. However if you are looking to enjoy some of the equity available on your property, Homes in the upper price bracket will unfortunately incur superior taxes. There are now some perfectly safe loan options available in Spain. If both you and your family is happy to see you enjoy some equity from your property or need immediate cash, you can now do so safely taking into consideration all the pros and cons. Some loans also have the advantage of giving you various options. The homeowner can elect to receive a lump sum, a line of credit, monthly payments or a combination of these. The loan is due, with

Changing your resident statusFor the few expatriates who have decided to return to their home country and are residents in Spain should, before they leave carry out a few simple procedures. Firstly you should visit your local national police station with your documents and advise the offi cials in the foreigners department that you will be returning to your home country and therefore wish to give up your residency status. Go to your town hall with your padron certifi cate and your passport and ask for you and your family to be removed from the census. You may be told this is not necessary but it is advisable to do so. Last but not least unregister your Spanish plated car if you do not intend to take this with you and are either selling or scrapping the vehicle. If you do not carry out the latter you will continue to incur annual car tax charges which will be registered as a debt against your name.

Club Charity and Pleasure is a friendly, social organisation based in El Paraiso, Estepona. They meet at 11 am each Wednesday morning at El Paraiso Country Club for coffee, and often they have a speaker. No le sobreproteja. Háblele de sus defectos y de sus virtudes para que sepa enfrentarse a la realidad tal y como es, pero sin perder la fantasía, su hijo tiene una gran imaginación. He observado que en estos últimos días se ha unido a compañeros confl ictivos. Se sintió una cobarde por haber pensado que debía sacar a su hijo de ese colegio. El maestro pensó en voz alta: “El cuerpo de la inocencia, al que le arrancan poco a poco sus miembros… Crecemos y nos hacemos hombres, pero, llegar a ser personas autenticas…” La mujer y el maestro callaron. Se miraron. Pensaron. ¿Era preciso profundizar tanto en esta conversación? El tutor necesitaba saber la verdad para tratar de ayudar al alumno. La madre y el maestro hablaron durante mucho tiempo, tratando de encontrar una solución, ¿la solución a qué? –La verdad –dijo ella–, creo que igual que la ausencia del padre en el hogar perjudica a sus hijos, también es terrible vivir bajo la infl uencia negativa de este, día tras día, conviviendo bajo el mismo techo; eso es así, los padres infl uyen demasiado, han infl uido en usted, y en mí, y en Kafka, por supuesto.–Señora, aunque no deseo involucrarme para nada en su vida privada, si añadimos los problemas familiares de su hijo a los que ya tiene con los compañeros de clase, ¿adónde podemos llegar? –Ahora sí que estaba más claro ese asunto para el maestro. La señora, a su hija pequeña, y a su hijo, un niño de trece años, de ojos negros, muy alto para su edad, divertido y astuto, poco fantasioso, aunque a su madre eso no le importaba.–He hablado con tu maestro –explicó la madre a su hijo mientras guardaba la ropa en el armario–. No te preocupes por tus compañeros, cuando te acosen y te insulten, dirígete a tu profesor, él te ayudará. Y en tus estudios, él dice que eres inteligente, yo también lo creo así, y quizás lo único que te falta es un poco de confi anza en ti mismo; espero que todo esto te ayude en tus estudios y para lograr convivir con los demás. –Me conoces menos que papá; pero papá tiene motivos para no saber nada de mí, porque apenas si le veo... –dijo el niño.–No digas tonterías, yo te conozco muy bien; ¿crees que no sé de tu vida? –Te voy a decir algo –comenzó a hablarle su hijo tratando de ayudar a su madre con la ropa–: los peores defectos son los que no se ven. Mis compañeros ya no se ríen de mí. Papá debería haberte dicho que si me he aliado al enemigo ha sido por culpa del propio contrincante –eso lo hice hace sólo tres meses, y como ves, los resultados son palpables, ni tú ni el tutor debéis de preocuparos más, ahora estoy aliado con mi contrario–; pues pienso que papá no sólo te está destruyendo a ti, sino que con su actitud de padre arrogante y de instructor irreverente conseguirá destruirnos por fi n a todos. –La madre le quitó una camisa de la mano a su hijo que este pretendía doblar, y le dijo que estaba arrugada, que no lo hiciera, también le dijo que ahora sí que estaba de verdad preocupada por él–. Decaída, pero no asolada, así estás, mamá. Me he unido a mis compañeros crueles como ya hace tiempo me uní a mi padre sabiendo de sus malicias contigo, y de verdad, eso creía que te benefi ciaría, que no te produciría más daño, y así, aliado a él tendría la oportunidad de combatirle con más precisión, pensé que de una vez se alejaría el infi erno de esta casa. –Me sorprendes, y sin duda llevas toda la razón, papá nos tiene abandonados, pero no puedes seguir por ese camino uniéndote al mal. A la corta o la larga terminarás en la penumbra y te verás solo. Debemos unirnos y no andar perplejos sino fi rmes. –Hubo un silencio y después la madre pensó en voz alta–: “Aunque sé, que además de amar y perdonar, me pregunto, ¿qué más podemos hacer…? Sí, eso es, vivir, vivir y no tener miedo a dar los pasos con entereza para conseguir un futuro mejor...”.–Pero para ello, hay que tener tanto valor–. Su hijo, que dejó de ayudar con la ropa a su madre, tomo el teléfono móvil de ésta y comenzó a marcar un número de teléfono. Llamó a un amigo y le dijo que no lo esperara, que ya hablarían porque él no deseaba seguir en esa pandilla. Después comenzó a buscar un juego para tranquilizarse, pero lo soltó y miró a su madre a los ojos fi jamente, y dijo con la certeza de un adulto–: ¿Cuánto terminará todo esto? ¿Qué nos costará? Pues que sea lo que tenga que ser, pero no permitas más que nos haga más daño, porque también lo hará un día con mi hermana.–No, a partir de ahora, todo va a cambiar, pero prométeme que mañana hablarás con el maestro. Yo hablaré con tu padre. Nunca, nunca más nos maltratará, jamás lo hará, te lo prometo. –¿Y cómo lo vas a evitar?–No lo sé todavía, pero lo mejor será que nos separemos, si él no cambia de actitud con nosotros. Hoy hablaré con él seriamente.

Welcome to The Resident Fitness & Food column written by personal trainer JoJo France and nutritional therapist Claudia Norris.Have you noticed how some people can eat whatever they want without putting on weight, others look like they workout even when they don’t even know where the gym is, and others seem to have a constant battle with weight no matter how much they work out and diet? Last month we introduced the three body types which goes some way to explaining why our bodies look like they do. Understanding which body types you are made up of will help you understand why certain aspects of your diet and workout are harder and slower (or easier and faster) for you than they are for other people. You can refer to last month’s article online www.theresident.es on p.28 of April’s issue. This article will help you tailor your diet and workout to achieve the body you want – genetics can make things harder for us, but with specifi c advice, you can still lose weight, build lean muscle and achieve your goals.
ENDOMORPHDiet: Endomorphs gain weight very easily around the waistline in particular and often have a slow metabolism. Their body type is totally unforgiving with any fatty or sugary junk food. The same holds true for deep fried foods. Wean yourself onto high protein foods and complex carbs instead. Protein foods are the endomorph’s friend. It’s great for long term energy, muscle and tissue repair and growth and resistance to illness. Eat most of your (mainly complex) carbs in the fi rst half of the day when you need energy and cut them right back in the evenings while increasing your lean protein foods. Exercise: The ideal workout would burn lots of calories. To do this you need to work at around 80% of your heart rate max (220- your age =100%) now workout 80% and that is your goal. A workout lasting around 40 minutes is an ideal time., low intensity session with light weights , aiming to keep your heart rate within the ‘fat burning zone’ (80% of max). A great workout would be the treadmill or cross trainer, an all over low impact circuit (as previously discussed in The Resident), swimming for distance rather than speed, or anything that gets you hot and sweaty , such as a dance class , step and tone or even a jog.This body shape will benefi t from daily workouts, to help reduce body fat and to burn off the extra calories, so plan to be active every day for approx 40 mins, this will help reduce the risk of heart disease.
MESOMORPH Diet: Mesomorphs tend to need little help when it comes to changing their body composition. Ordinarily this can be done by simply cutting back on needless carbs, increasing protein and upping activity, however here are some tips that can help speed the process. Avoid the obvious pitfalls of processed carbs and deep fried foods. Complex carbs, unsaturated fats and protein foods are important for a balanced energy packed breakfast. Snacks must be healthy choices of whole fruits and protein foods such as raw nuts, protein shakes. Generally speaking, you have no need to cut back your complex carb intake in the evening meal because of your highly effi cient metabolism.Exercise: For most people this is the body shape we would most desire. The body is well balanced upper to lower in muscle proportion, the muscles and thick and powerful and

respond well to all types of training. You can lift weights which are heavy for low number of reps or do light weights for high number of reps.To stimulate muscle growth then moderate to heavy weights will need to be lifted. The perfect workout would be under 1 hour, to keep this body in top form and to reduce body fats, you can perform high intensity circuit training, or push your heart rate higher on your aerobic training, this body shape respond’s well to any athletics training, running, jumping, skipping, you can improve on the skills that challenge your core muscles and core strength, such as yoga or Pilates
ECTOMORPH Diet: In order to gain weight, Ectomorph’s have to eat many more calories than other body types. Otherwise, their fast metabolism causes them to burn off any muscle gains. Ectomorphs benefi t from diets high in carbohydrates, proteins and moderate in fat. The intake of carbohydrates in proportion to protein should be approximately 1:2 in ratio. You may have to eat substantially more than you are comfortable with – this changes as the body adapts and begins to absorb all of the extra food. Protein shakes taken immediately after exercise can help to build lean muscle.Exercise: This body shape can fi nd it diffi cult to gain muscle mass, so even though cardio is needed to maintain good heart strength and conditioning too much and you can fi nd your body leaner than you want, losing some of the muscles you have tried so hard to gain.With a weight workout aim for pull body moves or power moves such as deadlifts, squat presses, press ups, chin -ups, aim for often with intensity, This body shape can afford to go ‘safe heavy’ with the weights, gaining muscle mass can be a slow process, but the lean mass of this body shape makes the hard work very worthwhile. Aim to work each body part with 2-3 exercises on every workout with a full body circuit, then focus on the major body parts for isolation moves, such as butt, legs, back and chest. Paying particular attention to the core and abdominals will be a huge benefi t, this body shape is more likely to have a visible 6 pack.You would normally fi nd this body shape running marathons or long distance endurance work, so to challenge the body work on short intensity work, such as skipping or sprinting, working the heart rate harder but for much shorter periods of time.
