On June 1, Ms. Evans assumed the role vacated with Dr. Steve Rumford’s retirement. Ms. Evans began her career serving with Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches as a college summer worker. She has served as Summer Camp Director, Business Manager, Regional Director of Southeast Florida, Vice President of Public Relations, and Vice President of Donor Relations. She was honored for her dedicated service as the recipient of the Leadership Award by the Florida Association of Child and Family Agencies and the Friend of Children Award by the Florida Coalition for Children. South Georgia is fortunate to have Ms. Evans at The Home and we look forward to many years of continued success. Dr. McAleer is a personal friend and talented minister. I have long watched his ministry as one of inspiration. He is a gifted speaker and leader in our conference. Brooke and I had the pleasure of serving with Derek and Charlene (his wife) while we were in Macon. We were blessed by their faithfulness, love, and support. St. Paul has long been a supporter of The Methodist Home and we are delighted to have these two in worship this morning. May God bless St. Paul and The Home today.

    The Call to Prayer

Take this moment to prepare to speak to the One who is more focused upon our hearts than upon our words. One who is more committed to us and our soul’s well being than we are to our body’s comforts and pleasures. One who has shown us by the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ the seriousness with which He makes our appointment. The only One who loves us just because His love is greater than our sin. Free yourself in these moments from your fear-filled secrets by prayerfully confessing them in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

We will have Holy Communion Sunday, July 7. If you or someone you know will be unwillingly absent due to illness, work schedule, or physical inability, we can deliver the elements. Please call the Church Office by Wednesday, July 3, with the name, address, phone number, and a convenient time for delivery. In addition to first-Sunday Communion, we also offer a short communion service the other Sundays of the month, in the Illges Chapel at 9:45 a.m. We now offer Gluten free communion wafers. Please let an usher know if this is your preference.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES Don’t forget to bring your used Sunday School Quarterlies and Christian publications to the Wesley Class to be recycled. The books will be donated to the Columbus Prison and we could never take too many. Teacher Editions may be included also. We invite you to participate in this ministry by simply recycling.

Our sister church, Rose Hill Methodist is in great need of used clothing for men, women, and children. If you would like to make a donation, please bring items to the church and place in the box located outside the Miller-Wilson classroom entrance. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this ministry.
