Page 2: The Revolution

King Louis XVI ascended the throne in 1774, he inherited a realm driven bankrupt through the assets of his predecessors. After donning the crown things only spiraled downwards. The economy in Paris of the year 1788 was the worst it has ever been. The people of France claimed Louis to be an ineffective ruler and he was overthrown due to poor decisions. A guard of twelve hundred horse men escorted Louis XVI to his execution, he had been condemned to death by the National Convention. King Louis XVI’s last words were “I die innocent of all crimes laid to my charge; I pardon those who have occasioned my death; and pray to god that the blood you are going to shed may never be visited on France.” You are the ruler of France, King Louis XVI, you will make the decisions for your people. Will you end up to be just as ineffective as the dead Louis?
