• FIP efforts started by WWF in 2012 with a National MSC Pre-Assessment and Action Plan across 5-gear types and 3 tuna stocks;
• AP2HI established in 2014;
• FIP Steering Committee for PL and HL started in 2016;
• Notable progress in scientific data collection via port side enumerators and vessel registration;
• Lacked a clear and committed roadmap that was time-bound to MSC;
Indonesia Background
• 2017 IPNLF was able to secure funding from Walton and Packard Foundation’s to help transition Indonesian one-by-one tuna fisheries to MSC
• Worked with AP2HI to designate fisheries to go into the full assessment by 2019
• Completed fishery-specific and time bound action plans to transition to MSC

• ~40 enumerator sites for HL UoAs;
• Re-look at enumerator protocols to ensure accuracy and ability to meet MSC outcomes;
• Evidence needed to prove low impacts to ETP’s (via TLC to verify);
• Vessel registration initiatives for small-scale HL fisheries across groups.
• Ensure there’s traceability for MSC CoC
