Overview:

This valve is used if a plant shutdown is impossible or undesirable for process, engineering or commercial reasons. With change-overvalvesitispossibletoswitchoverbetweenparallelsafetyvalveswithoutinterruptingoperation,sothatmaintenance work can be carried out on each safety valve in turn.

TheCOV10hasbeendesigned tobeasefficientaspossiblewhile delivering the same robust and reliable constructionyou have come to expect from Seetru. To complete the unit, Seetrusupplyarangeoffittingsandadaptorswhichallowforourchange-overvalvetobefittedtoawidevarietyofsystems.

Two relief valves must be fitted to the COV10 before operating the change-over mechanism, one duty and one standby.

To change over from a duty to a standby safety relief valve (SRV): -

1. Unlockhandleiflockingdevicefitted(recommended).2. StartinginamotionawayfromthedutySRV,rotatehandlethrough180°,eitherclockwiseoranticlockwisedependentuponstartstartingposition.3. Oncefullyrotated,lockinpositioniflockingdevicefitted(recommended).4. IfthenowstandbySRVistoberemove:withcaution,un-tightenventnutofstandbyChange-overarmby1to2revolutionstoexhausttrappedfluidfrom

change-overarm.5. Oncetrappedfluidhasde-pressurised,re-tightenventplugwithatighteningtorqueof3.0Nm.6. Remove the standby SRV.7. Theusermayplugthevacantoutletifdesired,howeversufficientsafetyprocedures(forexampleLockoutTagout)mustbeinplacetopreventinadv

inadvertentchangeover,thusrenderingthesystemun-protectedagainstexcessivepressure.Iftheoutletisplugged,ventarmofpressure,aspreviouslydescribed, prior to removal.
