The Shepherd’s Staff June, 2021 Newsletter Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church 521 Cypress Street Manistee, MI 49660 231.723.7161 [email protected] A MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR Dear Members and Friends of GSLC, Grace and peace from our Savior, Jesus Christ! Spring will give way to summer this month. The tourists will return and life on the streets will become busier. The cycle of life, as we know it, will resume. But for those who, perhaps, got into some bad habits dur- ing the pandemic, a gentle reminder for some may be of help. Our Lord saw us through this, but did we get into the bad habit that Scripture re- minds us of where we went to the place where we do not regularly wor- ship (as is the habit of some). I give a simple reminder that a part of reg- ularly gathering is to not only to give the Lord thanks (for leading us forward), but also that he has knit together a wonderful community, a family which gathers together to be an encouragement to one another. I don’t know about you, but the one thing this past year has taught me is that I really do cherish the communion of saints. I’ve learned, once again, that I enjoy being with fellow believers. I also happen to really enjoy this community we call Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. It’s a great community. As the busy-ness of summer comes upon us, remember that you are a valued part of our church community and family. It is always good to see family and friends. May the beautiful remaining days of spring and the new days of summer bless you and remind you of our Gracious Sav- ior’s presence and provision. I look forward to seeing you this month. A MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Members and Friends of GSLC,

Grace and peace from our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Spring will give way to summer this month. The tourists will return and

life on the streets will become busier. The cycle of life, as we know it,

will resume. But for those who, perhaps, got into some bad habits dur-

ing the pandemic, a gentle reminder for some may be of help. Our Lord

saw us through this, but did we get into the bad habit that Scripture re-

minds us of where we went to the place where we do not regularly wor-

ship (as is the habit of some). I give a simple reminder that a part of reg-

ularly gathering is to not only to give the Lord thanks (for leading us

forward), but also that he has knit together a wonderful community, a

family which gathers together to be an encouragement to one another.

I don’t know about you, but the one thing this past year has taught me is

that I really do cherish the communion of saints. I’ve learned, once

again, that I enjoy being with fellow believers. I also happen to really

enjoy this community we call Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. It’s a

great community.

As the busy-ness of summer comes upon us, remember that you are a

valued part of our church community and family. It is always good to

see family and friends. May the beautiful remaining days of spring and

the new days of summer bless you and remind you of our Gracious Sav-

ior’s presence and provision. I look forward to seeing you this month.

Remember that God is good all the time!

Your Servant in Christ,

Pastor Greene
