Implementation and Commissioning In late 2018, Simon’s Property contracted with Advetec to provide one of the first XO3 machines delivered to the USA. Tacoma Mall, one of over 100 shopping centres within the group, was used as a trial location to see the effects of waste reduction and cost control generated through the XO machine. The unit was commissioned and went live in May 2019 and despite some initial teething problems delivered impressive immediate results. Our local commissioning team worked with the Tacoma staff, adapting the handling system and redesigning elements of the machine throughput to maximise performance. Results In the first two months of operation the number of waste hauls required on site dropped from three per week to two per month, creating some very real immediate savings for the Mall. As a result of this initial implementation Advetec are now working with the Group to develop a roll out plan across the whole estate throughout the US.
