TRIBES

They Were a nomadic people (Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada).

The shoshone, or Shoshone, which means ‘’snake’’.

The shoshone didn’t write laws.

Each shoshone band had its own chief.

ECONOMY

Subsistence and Commercial Activities:

• Hunters had a right to their kill, with a special sequence of sharing followed for bison.

Industrial Arts:Shoshone made a wide variety of leather goods.

Division of Labor:Bison-skin tipis were made by the women and decorated by their husbands. Leatherworking, Except for shields, bowstrings, drums, and rattles, was women's work.

The Shoshone believed the spirit world was all around them.

The shoshone believed in a supernatural being called APPE.

Name of uncertain origin, It could mean “in the valley”.  the majority and the European they were “the serpents” or the “town of the serpents”.

They lived between Montana and Idaho and they arrived at from California, center and this of nevada.

Before they had horses, the Shoshone ate roots, insects, salmon, seeds, nuts, small game birds, groundhog, jack rabbit, and other small animals.

ROLES?

Shoshone women were in charge of the home.

Shoshone men were hunter.
