• There are two different Drafting Contest that are Set-up by National SkillsUSA.

SkillsUSA Technical Standards
• The SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards is the official competition guide for the SkillsUSA Championships.
• It contains rules for all national events, including an overview, lists of technical skills and knowledge required, clothing requirements, eligibility, equipment lists, and scoring criteria.
SkillsUSA Technical Standards
• It also lists the embedded academic skills in Math, English and Science.
• Rules for state and local events may vary from the National Guidelines, but most competitive events are model after the National Technical Standards.
• Also with this you get a copy of past National Contest called Contest Singles

• National SkillsUSA has two Drafting Contest
• They are:• Architectural Drafting • Technical Drafting
Architectural Drafting • Architectural Drafting is found in the Skilled and
Technical Sciences Contest Section
Purpose
• To evaluate each contestant’s preparation for employment and to recognize outstanding students for excellence and professionalism in the field of architectural drafting.
Clothing Requirement
• For men: • Official SkillsUSA white polo shirt with black dress slacks, black
socks and black leather shoes.
• For women: • Official SkillsUSA white polo shirt with black dress slacks or knee-
length skirt, black socks or black or skin-tone seamless hose and black dress shoes.
Clothing Requirements• Have to purchase the required Clothing for the contest at• https://www.skillsusastore.org
Eligibility• Open to active SkillsUSA members enrolled in programs
with architectural drafting as the occupational objective.
• District Contest• See your District Guidelines in the 2017-2018-SkillsUSA-Texas-
Regulations
• State Contest• Have to Win 1st or 2nd Place at District Contest to compete in the
Skills Contest• 3rd and 4th Place District Winners will take a Technology Test
• National Contest• Have to Win 1st Place at State Contest

Information to Know
• Equipment• Contestants will bring their own computer to do the design work
with AutoCAD installed.• Calculator
• Test Scope• Students will have two hours to create a design of a subdivision
using the surveyor and engineering notes. Drawing will include, but not limited to; • creating lots from the surveyor notes, • add roads• add sidewalks, as specified in notes given to competing student.
• Drawing will include all notes and details that are required by engineer notes.
• Students must be able to create the drawing in model space then move it into paper space at its given scale.
