THE TIDE RISES, THE TIDE FALLS
The tide rises, the tide fallsThe twilight darkens, the curlew calls;Along the sea sands damp and brownThe traveler hastens towards the townAnd the tide rises, the tide falls
Darkens settles on roofs and wallsBut the sea , the sea in darkness callsThe little waves , with their soft , white handsEfface the footprints in the soundsAnd the tide rices , the tide falls
The morning weak ; the steedsiu their stallsStamp and reigh as the hostler calls,The day returns ,but nevermoreReturn the traveler to the shoveAnd the tide rises ,the tide falls.
