You may have heard rumors that St. Lucy is in the process of planning for a Capital Campaign this autumn. The ru-mors are true. St. John Paul II wrote in his Apostolic Letter “ RO-SARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE: ON THE MOST HOLY ROSARY, “the Rosary is also, and always has been, a prayer of and for the family. At one time this prayer was particularly dear to Christian families, and it certainly brought them closer together. It is important not to lose this precious inheritance. We need to return to the practice of family prayer and prayer for families, continuing to use the Rosary.” (#41)

Catechesis? St. Lucy offers a playful and interactive catechesis program for children ages 3 to 5, during the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass. Registered families can drop off their children in the class before Mass, and pick them up when Mass ends. SPECIAL EDUCATION for kids and youth with special needs and disabilities. The catechesis of Special Education at St. Lucy is adapted in content and method to the particular situations of the children with special needs. We meet regularly on Sundays, 10 AM to 11:15 AM. Parents are always welcome to audit the sessions.

La Iniciación Cristiana En la Edición pasada tuvimos la oportunidad de escuchar del Papa Francisco en su exhortación apostólica “La alegría del Evangelio la condición de la catequesis: Kerymática y Mistagógica; ahora presentamos lo que dice la Iglesia acerca del RICA en sus observaciones generales. Por los sacramentos de la Iniciación Cristia-na, “Libres del poder de las tinieblas, muertos, sepultados y resucitados con Cristo, recibimos el Espíritu de los hijos de adopción y celebramos con todo el pueblo de Dios el memorial de la Muerte y Resurrección del Señor.” (Conc. Vat. II Ad Agentes, n.14) En efecto , Incorporados a Cristo por el Bautismo, constituimos el pueblo de Dios, recibimos el perdón de todos nuestros pecados, y pasamos de la condición humana en que nacemos como hijos del primer Adán al estado de hijos adoptivos, (Rom.8:15) convertidos en una nueva criatura por el agua y el Espíritu Santo. Por esto nos llamamos y somos hijos de Dios.(1 Jn.3:1). We need more religious books for children age 2-6
(Cash donations are welcome) We need your help to increase the size of the library so that all children will find a book available to help them grow in their love and understanding of Jesus until they can participate more fully in the Mass. New and gently used book donations and cash do-nations are welcome. Books MUST have a Chris-tian/Catholic theme to be added to the Children's Mass Library. Please bring all books to the Parish Office. For cash/check donations, please use the pink en-velopes and mark them "Children's Mass Library". $10 will purchase a new book. We are an organization of Catholic women dedicat-ed to the Christian principles of charity and love. Our
purpose is to help others.
We need at least 8-10 new members to join us and work on ongoing charitable projects such as:

narians - Collecting layette items for distribution to moth-
er in need - Organizing fun annual events (e.g. St. Patrick’s
Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner, Spring Tea)

Community Life Commission Seeking several energetic, enthusiastic people who love to have fun and socialize.
Purpose: To build a deeper sense of Christian Community for all ages and interest groups in the parish.
- We sponsor various fun, social activities (eg. Mardi Gras, Parish Picnic) throughout the year that help promote friendship and community within the parish.
- We coordinate with Parish Staff and solicit volunteers as needed. Requirements: Enthusiasm and willingness to use your talents to plan and execute Parish events. Ability to work well in fellowship with other Commission members and members of the parish. 16 years of age or older and a registered member of the parish. Our meetings are scheduled quarterly on the 4th Thursday of the month.
