Library News
Congratulations to 2/3E who won the Book Club prize for
Issue 7.
Parent Book Club
I have had some interested parents wanting to organise a
parent book club. This club would be run from our own
library on a Friday. They would meet once or twice a term
(as decided by the group). This group will be run by the
parents for the parents. It would be a great way to meet
new people, chat about interests and read at the same
time. The group will only go ahead if there is enough
interest to warrant it. If you are interested in attending
please let me know in person, via e-mail or phone the front
office.

Rule of the Week
Week 4 – Strive for excellence - I try my best all the time
Week 5 – Participation - I keep going even if I don’t want to
Green Team
The green team is up and running. We have been busy
spreading bark chip around our school. Just a reminder to
bring labelled gardening gloves for your rostered day. Thank
you to all the children who volunteered to make our school
look beautiful.
Jump Rope for Heart (JRFH)
Well done to all the families who have already started
getting sponsors. We have now raised $1471 online!!! Our
Jump Off day will be on 6th November. On this day there
will be skipping based activities for the students to
complete and we will have a showcase of our own talented
students. This is the day you need to bring in your sponsor
forms and money.
MONEY DAYS
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY
ONLY by 10am. Please also make sure that all
money is in a envelope and clearly marked with
child’s name, class, excursion. If money is paid via
credit card please make sure this is marked on front
of envelope also.
It is a Departmental policy that money not be kept
on the premises so can you please assist by not
sending money in on any other day. Please also
make sure that money is paid on the due date by
10am as all the appropriate paperwork for the
excursion must also be completed.

as we can on Monday 3rd November.

P & C News
A big THANK YOU to everyone who came along and helped out with the Working Bee. It's nice to see the school starting to
look fresh and tidy, again.
CHRISTMAS MARKET & PORTRAIT DAY:
We are well under way with plans for the Christmas market and Portrait Day. Be sure to book in for your $15 portrait
session! Monies raised will go to the P&C to provide resources to the school. Please see below for more details.
If you would like a stall at the market, they will be $30 a spot. You can contact Beth, our market day coordinator, direct at
There will be more information regarding HAMPER DONATIONS, in the coming weeks.
KINDERGARTEN PARENT ORIENTATION
Monday November 3rd is the Kindergarten orientation for new parents. We are very pleased to be offering Morning Tea to
the two sessions being undertaken. Due to the large volume of parents attending, we are requesting people to make some
home made morning tea. If you are unable to assist with that then alternately you may like to "man the stations" and assist
in preparation and serving of the morning tea. We need volunteers at two times: 10:10 to 10:30am and 12:40 to 1:00pm.
You would be welcoming the new parents into the school community and your help would be greatly appreciated. If you are
available to do either, please email [email protected] ASAP.
NOVEMBER P&C MEETING
Our next meeting will be held, Tuesday, November 4th at 7.30pm in the staff room. We hope you will join us as we begin to
wrap up 2014 and start to think about the P&C Association school community role in 2015.
