Velvet Rose is the proprietor of the Velvet Lounge. An underground cluboperating in an age of prohibition during lockdown. She invites guests to theclub for fun and excitement where they are allowed to drink, unmask andmisbehave but in return they must perform for her. If she isn't suitablyentertained -well - she gets rid of them. A dark comedy about boredommurder and revenge.

The Velvet Lounge features the Carole Williams as Velvet Rose. She is bored,ruthless and sardonic. To entertain her, her guests have to be captivating.Each performance features special guest artists invited from in and aroundBrisbane to strut their stuff and take their chances on Velvet's stage. Fromartistic pole dancers to drag performers and operatic rock to contemporarydancers this show within a show brings a variety of exciting acts.

Williams strings them together with clever story telling and a plot thatrevolves around her character's back story of love, murder and revenge.

In a show don’t tell experience, the audience is invited to take a seat in theVelvet Lounge and experience close up the mystery, tension and darkhumour of this quirky cabaret. Williams effortlessly delivers this story along with a selection of songs thatlink her guests together including Keep Young and Beautiful, We all goTogether, The Soldier's Wife, Isolation and Fuck all the Perfect People.

Accompanied by some of Brisbane’s top musicians, Williams and her guestsentertain patrons with a outstanding vocals, performances, clever costuming,dialogue and artistry. A great story and an audio visual treat all rolled intoone.

UK born Carole Williams, grew up surrounded by music and spent her childhoodsoaking up the music of [list artists and influences]. Her soulful style, powerful voiceand songwriting skills, have led to airplay of her original songs on national radio,cabaret performances, musical theatre, television appearances and numerousconcert performances, including performing with the Tasmanian SymphonyOrchestra and singingthe national anthem for of 30 000 people at the first AFL gamein Hobart.

Carole's extensive music career has involved an eclectic mix of band gigs, corporateperformances and public events, performing alongside international artists such asMirusia and Scott Muller. When she’s not on stage, Carole provides voice overs andrecordings for clients in Australia and overseas.

An invitation to perform and participate in the development of a Redlands’ Women InVoice Cabaret Initiative for 2022-23, acknowledges Carole’s influence as a femaleperformer. She was invited to perform a concert series at the International Festival ofVoices in Hobart, Tasmania in July, 2021 and will be performing at the RedlandsPerforming Arts Centre in August this year.

Performance sits very close to songwriting for Carole and cabaret captured her heartleading her to write five original cabarets, which have been performed at festivalsacross Australia.

Music is part of the fabric of Carole's entire life, including how she interacts with hercommunity. A recent community musical theatre experience playing the role ofDonna in a production of Mamma Mia, led to the development of a highly successfulMamma Mia tribute show for a global entertainment company - a role she will reprisein October 2021 performing this show again on the Brisbane River!

Expanding her discography, Carole is now deep into the writing process, creatingsongs for her next EP, workshopping songs with legends such as Americansinger/songwriter, Ben Folds.

This show brings a soul-filled, powerful collection ofsongs in a quirky, seductive, dark comedy that breaks all the rules. Carole wrote The Velvet Lounge during lockdown in Brisbane,Australia. "During lockdown I was lucky to collaborate online with BenFolds who was also in lockdown in Sydney. Having the time to write isa luxury and I am really excited to perform The Velvet Lounge now infront of a live audience."

Each performance features special guest artists invited from in andaround Brisbane to strut their stuff and take their chances on Velvet'sstage. From artistic pole dancers to drag performers and operatic rockto contemporary dancers this show within a show brings a variety ofexciting acts.

The Velvet Lounge showcases Carole Williams as a true and uniqueartist who has reinvented timeless classics to give them a modern,unique twist.
