Dip in and watch the specific talks you're interested in, or catch them all. It’s up to you! SOPHIA AWARD Do you know of someone in our parish that lives a life of stewardship (giving of time, talent and treasure)? We would love to honor her/him with a Sophia Award! A person (living or deceased) can be nominated on past outstanding contributions. Please submit your form by July 15, 2020 by mail to: Cathy Hagan, McRaith Catholic Center, 600 Locust Street, Owensboro, KY 42301. Forms may be picked up in the Gathering Space or at the Parish Office. MOBILE APPS FOR MASS Since we cannot have missalettes in church for the foreseeable future some peo-ple may want to think about an APP for your smart phone or mini tablet. Here are a few suggestions that you might want to look into if you want something for the readings and Mass prayers. 1. Magnificat — (US Edition) 2. Universalis — this will not only be the Mass but it will also be the Liturgy of the Hours. 3. IBreviary pro Terra Sancta —This will have the Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours, and many other prayers. 4. Missale Romanum — This app can be difficult to navigate. Also the Mass readings will be a bit different because they are from Great Britain.

CURRENT MASS GUIDELINES 1. All Masses are inside the church at St. John's right now with the normal Mass schedule for weekend and weekdays. See the bulletin for Mass times. 2. The obligation to attend Sunday Mass is still lifted by Bishop Medley. Howev-er, we all know that the Eucharist is the source and summit of our spiritual life. The Eucharist is essential. If folks go out into crowds at the grocery or large chain stores, then folks should remember that masks are required at Mass and church is sanitized after every Mass. Seems like church is safer than some of the places people gather, if the guidelines are followed. 3. If you are worried about attending Mass on the weekend with a larger crowd present, then think about attending one of the weekday Masses (Wednesday-Friday). 4. Mask are to be worn as you enter the church and kept on throughout the Mass. If you are uncomfortable or children are not mature enough to wear a mask for the entire liturgy, they should worship from home. 5. Please remember this gentle reminder that the restrooms in church ARE NOT available for use at this time. 6. People are asked to follow the guidance of the ushers/greeters in order to pro-vide safe distance seating for all who come to church. Our present church capacity around 110 people per Mass. If we reach that limit people will be asked to stand outside for Mass and Holy Communion will be brought to you at the proper time. 7. A collection basket will be at the church entrance placed in the holy water font. Please place your offering in this basked as you enter church. 8. Only one side of the church at a time will go to Holy Communion starting from the front pews. Then when one side has finished receiving Holy Commun-ion the other side will start from the front pews and go to the back. All keeping the 6 ft. distancing between households. 9. Holy Communion will only be given in the hand. Once you receive Our Lord step to the side, pull down your mask, then consume the Sacred Host and walk back to your pew. 10. After the priest exits at the end of Mass, the ushers will dismiss one pew at a time beginning in the narthex, then the choir loft, then the back rows, etc. Please keep up your care, concern and cooperation as you exit by not congregating after Mass to talk, but go straight to your cars.

STEWARDSHIP

(Time, Talent, Treasure)“

Let all Your works give You thanks, O’ Lord, and let Your faithful ones bless You,” says the

Psalmist. Stewardship is this “attitude of gratitude” of the many gifts God has given us.

Amen.
