PENTESOST SUNDAY "Knowledge of faith is possible only in the Holy Spirit: to be in touch with Christ, we must first have been touched by the Holy Spirit. He comes to meet us and kindle faith in us." (CCC, 683) CONFESSION Confession: Saturday (ONLY), 4:00 — 4:45 pm. LOCATION: on the rectory carport. LIVE STREAM MASS † MASSES/our Sunday Mass will be live stream at 7:30 am on the St John the Evangelist Paducah Facebook page. Weekday Masses will be live stream: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 7:30 am. DIOCESAN MAY 31st MASS UPDATE — There is still a dispensation from the obligation for all Masses. If you are vulnerable, or if you think there is a possibility that your family could present a risk to others who may be vulnerable, please do not attend the Liturgy. — Everyone should wear a mask (NOT PROVIDED). If people are uncom-fortable or children are not mature enough to wear a mask for the entire Liturgy, please refrain from attending. Also, refrain to the rule: 6 ft. dis-tancing. — Singing can propel the virus. So please, no singing. — Continue live streaming liturgies, prayers and thoughts of encourage-ment. Remember that your live streaming will demonstrate your adherence to the state and Bishop’s directives. At all masses, the Church can be no more than 33 % occupied. — Greeters to coordinate six feet of separation for congregants in every oth-er pew. *There is entrance and exit strategy for parishioners. — Churches must be cleaned after every service. No hymnals or materi-als will be available in the pew.

***WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF PEOPLE, AS VOLUNTEERS, TO STAY AFTER THE MASS THAT THEY ATTEND TO SANITIZE THE CHURCH FOR THE NEXT MASS. Call the parish office to volunteer for this much needed job! ST VINCENT DEPAUL SVdP's Helpline has reopened as of Tuesday, May 12th and open regular hours Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 10:00 am--1:00 pm. They have put in place all the recommendations by the Governor to keep every-one safe and therefore will only be allowing a few people in at a time. — The store opened May 20th, but waiting to hear additional guidelines from the Governor relating to the retain stores. Please consider as SVdP is very much in need of volunteers. If, you hear of anyone needing assistance, please send them our way. Thank you! MEDITATION "Come, Holy Spirit!" Yes, in any discernment of God's call, we need to call on the Holy Spirit to come to fill and inspire us. Do we think to call on the Holy Spirit? Pentecost reminds us to do this not just on one feast during the year . . . but every day.

REOPENING OF PARISHES RULES/GUIDELINES

“We fly to your protection, O Holy Mother of God”.

In the present tragic situation, when the whole world is prey to suffering and anxie-ty, we fly to you, Mother of God and our Mother and seek refuge under your protec-tion. Virgin Mary, turn your merciful eyes towards us amid this coronavirus pandemic. Comfort those who are distraught and mourn their loved ones who have died, and at times are buried in a way that grieves them deeply. Be close to those who are con-cerned for their loved ones who are sick and who, in order to prevent the spread of the disease, cannot be close to them. Fill with hope those who are troubled by the uncertainty of the future and the consequences for the economy and employment. Mother of God and our Mother, pray for us to God, the Father of mercies, that this great suffering may end and that hope and peace may dawn anew. Plead with your divine Son, as you did at Cana, so that the families of the sick and the victims be comforted, and their hearts be opened to confidence and trust. Protect those doctors, nurses, health workers and volunteers who are on the frontline of this emergency, and are risking their lives to save others. Support their heroic effort and grant them strength, generosity and continued health. Be close to those who assist the sick night and day, and to priests who, in their pasto-ral concern and fidelity to the Gospel, are trying to help and support everyone. Blessed Virgin, illumine the minds of men and women engaged in scientific re-search, that they may find effective solutions to overcome this virus. Support national leaders, that with wisdom, solicitude and generosity, that they may come to the aid of those lacking the basic necessities of life and may devise social and economic solutions inspired by farsightedness and solidarity. Mary Most Holy, stir our consciences, so that the enormous funds invested in devel-oping and stockpiling arms will instead be spent on promoting effective research on how to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future. Beloved Mother, help us realise that we are all members of one great family and to recognise the bond that unites us, so that, in a spirit of fraternity and solidarity, we can help to alleviate countless situations of poverty and need. Make us strong in faith, persevering in service, constant in prayer. Mary, Consolation of the afflicted, embrace all your children in distress and pray that God will stretch out his all-powerful hand and free us from this terrible pandem-ic, so that life can serenely resume its normal course. To you, who shine on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope do we entrust ourselves, O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP

(Time, Talent, Treasure)“ Let all Your works give You thanks, O’ Lord, and let Your

faithful ones bless You,” says the Psalmist. Stewardship is this “attitude of gratitude” of the many gifts God has given us.

Amen.
