The Choir of Groton School, of Groton, Massachu- setts, USA, has been presenting a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols since 1928, ten years after the service was introduced at King's. Groton holds the distinction of having the oldest tenured Lessons and Carols service in the United States. The oldest service in an American parish church is at Saint Thomas in Hanover, New Hampshire, where the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols has been presented annually since 1935. Community Actions Tax Prep program is looking for dedicated volunteers who are willing to partici- pate in a program that helps low to moderate- income individuals and families prepare their tax returns. More information can be found on the website www.communityactionatwork.org/help/volunteer/ taxprep.html The challenge: in order to meet our antici- pated income for the year, we are extend- ing a giving challenge of $250,000 during this final quarter of the year.     HOSPICE SINGERS: During the month of October, 18 people from var-ious Lincoln churches received hospice training and have begun preparing to provide bedside singing to those who have been placed in hospice care. The purpose of this new EPC music minis-try mission is to bring comfort and peace, through music, to those who

    are receiving hospice care. Anyone wishing to have this group sing for a loved one or friend in hospice care should contact Patty Nie-mann, Eastridge Hospice Singers coordinator (402-432-8353 or [email protected]).

    New Member Orientation: TODAY at 10:10 am we’ll host another New Member Ori-entation for those interested in joining, or just wanting to learn more. See you in the Huxtable Lounge!

    In January, we’ll host Mary Pipher as she speaks about her book, Women Rowing North. Plan to join us at 2:00 pm on Saturday, Janu-ary 19. Francie and Finch bookstore will be selling copies in the Welcome Cen-ter that afternoon.

    Candlelight Worship: On Christmas Eve, join us

    for candlelight worship at 5:00, 7:00, and/or

    9:00 pm. They all involve candlelight and Silent

    Night, but each is different: 5pm (Children’s

    Christmas Program), 7pm (Worship led by the

    McGuires: Will, Jana, Grady) & 9pm (Worship with

    Communion).

    Youth Group News: Wednesday, December 19– Both groups will gather together for the annual

    Youth Christmas Party. Please watch email/Facebook/Instagram for additional information about the evenings activities. Wednesday, December 26 & Wednesday, January 2 – No Youth gathering.
