News to Know

THE LINK SAINT PAUL CATHOLIC SCHOOL

For those who attended Magic & Mischief Benefit last year,

you can agree that it was an event that delivered. You

found connections with new parents, familiar faces and a

night out filled with fun, laughter and surprises! The feed-

back was unanimous—it was a magical evening!

Rhythm & Blues Ball, is slated to be another epic event.

The Market will be the scene, with Valpo’s own Head Hon-

chos headlining the event, as well as an acoustical perfor-

mance by The Rocco’s. Silent and Live auctions, raffles

and more will enhance the fun. And, feel free to don your

favorite rock n’ roll attire!

Last week, we sent home an important packet. It outlined

the event along with sponsorship opportunities and auction

information. An exciting aspect we wanted to highlight is

new this year – auction incentives. For the first time,

SPCS is offering credit for auction donations and purchas-

es, which will be applied to your Fundraising Profit Dollars

($775 annual requirement).

Here’s how it works:

Donations made to the silent/live auction will earn 10%

credit of the item value. (Donations can be anything you

donate or acquire from a business.)*

Purchases made at the silent/live auction will earn the pur-

chaser 10% credit of the purchase price.

With these bonuses, we are hoping everyone gets involved

to help us make this event the best yet. Our auction wish-

list includes hotel stays, weekend getaways, trips,

timeshares, party packages, sporting/theatre/event tickets,

backyard bbq packages, camping & sporting goods, spa

treatments, and yes, gift cards – anything we can get! All

donations are tax deductible.

This is the largest fundraiser of the year. Every dollar

raised goes to support our school and the enriching, educa-

tional experience our students receive. This event is also

your time to feel special, so we hope you invite friends and

family to share in this amazing evening.

Sponsorships are available for purchase now at

www.SaintPaulRocks.org. Tickets go on sale on February

1!! Hope to see you there! Questions please email Karen

Welch or Kristin Kantroski at [email protected]

*Sponsorships, tickets

and N.U.T. cards are

excluded from incentives.

Refer to Auction Incen-

tive Rule Structure in the

office.

STEM Building! - by Sarah Lindsey Mrs. Lindsey’s 1st graders used the design process to build the tallest tower possible using only uncooked spaghetti and

mini marshmallows. They had to work in groups and design their tower using 50 spaghetti noodles and a cup full of

marshmallows. Then, they were given the actual materials and started to work building and reinforcing their struc-

tures. The students quickly figured out that they would need to reinforce their original designs in order to build a tower.
