It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that is ever meant. It is the same the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well." Unknown In Loving Memory Of Theresa Ann Livers November 7, 1956 May 3, 2018

Page 2: Theresa Ann Livers Born Died In Loving Memory Of · 2018-05-07 · Theresa Ann (Greutman) Livers was born in Williston, ND on November 7, 1956, to Herman and Cecelia (Fry) Greutman.

Theresa Ann (Greutman) Livers was born in Williston,

ND on November 7, 1956, to Herman and Cecelia (Fry)

Greutman. Raised in Williston, ND, Theresa was the second

youngest of seven children, including three sisters, Helen,

Mary, Bonnie, and three brothers, John, Richard, and Jim.

She attended Williston High School where she participated

in cheerleading, track, and played percussion in the

Williston High School band. Theresa also retained her

baton twirling skills into her later years and would still

perform her routines for friends and family. In her teen

years, Theresa developed her artistic talents and became a

skilled artist in various media, including painting, drawing,

and photography. Theresa's upbringing allowed her to

cherish family, love history, respect heritage, and believe in

living life.

While always dreaming of becoming an Oceanographer,

the possible lack of oceans in North Dakota directed

Theresa to pursue another career path after high school.

Theresa attended Williston State College and then later

Trinity School of Nursing in Minot, ND where she became a

Registered Nurse in 1979. Theresa then obtained a

Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from Minot State

University in 1988. After graduation, Theresa worked at

Mercy Hospital in Williston, ND and then in Trenton, ND as

the Director of Community Health Nursing. In 1991,

Theresa started work as the Administrator of Sidney Health

Center Extend Care. During this time, she completed her

Master's of Science in Community Health Administration

and was a guest instructor teaching several healthcare

related courses at Montana State University Billings.

Theresa remained in this position until 2008 when she

transitioned into what would become the Director of

Continuum of Care Services at Sidney Health Center. Over

the next 10 years, Theresa dedicated her time to benefitting

the community by supporting the development of outreach

and support programming in the area. Theresa was greatly

honored to accept the role of Interim CEO for Sidney Health

Center in 2018. After 28 years, Theresa retired from Sidney

Health Center, a place she considered her second home and

family.

While in high school, Theresa met her husband Colin

who she started dating after he asked her out during

English Class. Colin proposed on their first date after

Theresa made him bowl nine games at the bowling alley.

Theresa married Colin on April 7, 1979 at St. Joseph’s

Church in Williston. Colin and Theresa had two children

while living in Williston, Michael and Stephanie. In 1990,

Colin and Theresa moved to Billings, MT where they gave

birth to their youngest daughter Amanda. Later that year

Colin and Theresa moved to Sidney, MT where they have

lived ever since. Theresa was an amazing wife, mother,

and grandmother. If anyone was more concerned for the

well-being of others, that person was Theresa. From filling

in as caretaker, friend, mother, or mentor, Theresa had an

innate ability to help people realize their potential and

make the best out of any situation. She never shied away

from sharing her stories and humor or listening to other

people when they were in need and was always insistent on

making sure friends, family, and co-workers were well fed,

regardless of the situation. When not insistent on taking

care of everyone else, her two main loves were family and

the outdoors. Theresa spent every spare minute outside

surrounded by nature. She loved to capture the beauty of

nature through photography and painting. During her

earlier years, Theresa was inspired by nature and created

beautiful wildlife paintings. She also accompanied Colin on

hunting trips over the years to photograph the landscapes.

During the winter she could be found cross country skiing

down by the river. In nicer weather she loved to hike the

badlands, ride 4-wheeler, and hunt for agates. She passed

on her love for the outdoors to her children and

grandchildren. Inspired by years of nature's beauty, her

final request to friends and family was to "Live more, Love

more".

On Thursday, May 3, 2018, Theresa passed away at her

home surrounded by her husband and three children.

Theresa is survived by: her husband, Colin Livers,

Sidney, MT; her children, Michael (Meghan) Livers, St.

Andrews, Scotland, Stephanie (Klayton) Carroll, Parachute,

CO and Amanda (Ryan) Douglas, East Grand Forks, MN;

her grandchildren, Abel, Aidan, Tristam, and Ronan Carroll,

Harper Douglas; her siblings, and numerous nieces,

nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Ceil and

Herman Greutman, her aunt, Doris Vader, mother-in-law,

Wilma Livers and father-in-law, John Livers, brothers-in-

law, Randy Livers and Steve Lodge, and uncle-in-law, Dale

Manke.
