e images illustrate results of in situ hybridization with eig to BACs. Putative locations for the BACs are included in the ions. All of these experiments were performed without CISS idization. On the basis of these results, two of the BACs (04 02) appear to contain only single-copy sequences. The other s ain multiple-copy sequences present either predominantly in t centromeric heterochromatin of all of the chromosomes (007K09 02, 251G05, 060G11) or at multiple telomeric locations (209L1 19). One of the BACs having multiple-copies sequences in the centromeric heterochromatin (177F12) also has a locus of idization at the telomere of the long arm of Chromosome 2. re currently performing additional experiments with these BAC g CISS hybridization with Cot100 tomato genomic DNA to determ her their single-copy sequences can be located specifically. k Lab--April 8,2005

These images illustrate results of in situ hybridization with eighttomato BACs. Putative locations for the BACs are included in the captions. All of these experiments were performed without CISShybridization. On the basis of these results, two of the BACs (045N22,098L02) appear to contain only single-copy sequences. The other sixcontain multiple-copy sequences present either predominantly in thepericentromeric heterochromatin of all of the chromosomes (007K09,098L02, 251G05, 060G11) or at multiple telomeric locations (209L16,216M19). One of the BACs having multiple-copies sequences in thepericentromeric heterochromatin (177F12) also has a locus ofhybridization at the telomere of the long arm of Chromosome 2.We are currently performing additional experiments with these BACsusing CISS hybridization with Cot100 tomato genomic DNA to determinewhether their single-copy sequences can be located specifically.
