Meet Walter Eaves Introducing Minnie! Walter was introduced to the Fountains of Franklin by his children. He wasn’t sure what to expect but after a short time he became acclimated to the daily routine and began to find his ‘nitch’. Now, on most days, you can find Walter either on the veranda enjoying the view or playing pool in the Fountains’ game room. He is always challenging the next person for a game. Of course, no one can beat him. Walter grew up in West Nashville and attended Cohn High School. He joined the Navy when he was 17 years old and served in the Pacific during World War II. After the war was over, he came back to Nashville and worked in construction for a few years before he went to work for Ford Motor Company in 1957, retiring after 33 years. In addition, while working at Ford, Walter was a builder and realtor. He was extremely busy and with great pride constructed and sold 13 houses. After being in the Navy, he met his bride, Dorothy, and was married for 61 years. Settling in Nashville and then Franklin, they had a son and two daughters. Walter has been blessed with eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. e family gatherings are a highlight for him. Walter and Dorothy experienced great traveling adventures including a trip to Hawaii that was unforgettable. Over the years, he loved his sports and fishing at Percy Priest and Dale Hollow Lake. He was an avid fisherman and is a lifetime member of the Middle Tennessee Fly Fishers. He caught many a 7 pounder! Even Dorothy enjoyed fishing with Walter. Dreams and goals have all been met for Walter, and so now he fills his time participating in such activities as watching television or watching the current construction activity on the Fountains’ campus. As you well know, LOVE is our core principal here at the Fountains, and we are always looking for ways to extend that love to others. Little did we know that God would send us LOVE in a tiny furry package! Minnie, a miniature dachshund, joined our Fountains’ family on ursday, April 16, and things haven’t been the same since. Minnie was given to the Fountains by Tammy Bell, whose mother was Minnie’s original owner. We promised Tammy that we would honor her mother’s memory by giving Minnie a lot of “mothers and fathers” to love her and vice versa. Meet Walter Eaves

Introducing Minnie!

He joined the

Navy when he was 17 years old and served in the Pacific during World War II. The family gatherings are a highlight for him. Walter and Dorothy experienced great traveling adventures including a trip to Hawaii that was unforgettable. Over the years, he loved his sports and fishing at Percy Priest and Dale Hollow Lake. Meet Jenni HawkinsAs a young child, Jenni volunteered at a nursing home where her mother was the in-house beautician. Jenni loved it and realized that her calling was to work with senior adults. At 22, she graduated from her training at NHC with a 93% average. Jenni was born in Murfreesboro, and lived most of her life in Franklin. She and her son, Dalyn, moved to Eagleville and reside there presently. When asked about her son, Jenni says that he is amazing and her biggest dream is to be the best mother possible. Her mother, Mary, has been the backbone for her and her sister, Heather, who also works here at the Fountains. Jenni has been taught to be the best she can be. Their family time, cooking together and lake visits are cherished times. Jenni feels that the Fountains of Franklin is her long-term career plan. “This is it”, she says. The

residents have nicknamed her “Speedy!” She has developed close relationships with the residents and is eager to please. She is a hard worker and it definitely shows through her determination and wit.
