President’s Message
Arkansas ACI Chapter Members:
It is hard to believe we are already halfway through 2015. This year has flown by quickly. I know many of you, like myself, would like a break in this rainy, gloomy weather that we have been having lately. Rain doesn’t allow for much con-crete work. I would once again like to thank Greg Campbell for an excellent job serving as chapter president in 2014. I have enjoyed getting to working with him & the other board members so far this year.
Your Arkansas ACI chapter is dedicated to serving the concrete industry of our state. We achieved an excellent chapter award for 2013 from ACI National & have done it once again in 2014. Great job everyone! I urge all our members to stay in touch with our chapter by placing www.arkansaschapteraci.org on your favorites list. This will keep you in touch with all of the events & news of the chapter. Please do not miss out on the seminars, fish fry, & other events in 2015.
For those members that were unable to make the annual meeting in January, there were two excellent concrete project awards presented & two doctorate candi-dates from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, made presentations on their research projects. The details are presented in this issue of your newsletter on page 5. Also, there are ACI student chapters existing & being formed at the various state universities.
The board is presently working on future seminars & a list of locations & speakers will be included in future news-letters. Also, everyone should have re-ceived a mailing or membership form in past newsletters about dues. A renewal would be appreciated & if you know someone that could benefit from a mem-bership in the Arkansas chapter, please encourage their participation.
Thanks for your support

I would like to thank everyone who attended ARMCA’s 50th Annual Conven-tion. Even with the rain, it was a great success!. We wouldn’t have made it to 50 years without your faithful attendance so thanks! The convention was once again at the Embassy Suites & Hot Springs Con-vention Center in Hot Springs, AR. It was held on March 12-14, 2015. Unfortu-nately the golf tournament on Thursday was rained out. We still gave away some great door prizes and got ourselves ready for the 2nd annual bowling event that would follow later that night. On Friday, we held the Mixer Driver & Wheel Load-er competition along with seminars that followed immediately after. Saturday, began with a seminar & the annual business meeting. Soon after, we were off to the races at Oaklawn, then finishing off the weekend with our Annual Banquet Saturday night. We hope you sign up next year because it is destined to be another fantastic weekend. See you in Hot Springs 2016!
