C W ~ Mark Davis, Director of Music Ministries P. A *H.2 P “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” arr. J. Biery

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing, Tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above; Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, Mount of God’s unchanging love!

“Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!” arr. M. Burkhardt Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!

Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee,

Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,

Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea;

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

From the Thoughtful Christian: “In this six-week adult study, ‘An Acceptable Fast: An Adult Lenten Study,’ Old Testament scholar and teacher Patricia Tull begins each session by locating the biblical verses in their original context and then exploring a key Lenten theme related to the text. Themes include: voice gratitude, take the long view, choose well, accept responsibility, welcome the future and trust God in times of conflict. Each session ends with a meditation on how the text speaks to our modern situation.”

Finance Committee Serving WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTERGENERATIONAL STUDY ~ On Wednesday nights we offer an intergenerational study following dinner that will complement the daily devotion from “Presbyterians Today”. Our study is titled “Seeing ourselves in those confronted by Jesus”. Each Wednesday night we will learn about a new group that Jesus encountered in his earthly ministry such as the Pharisees, Sad-ducees, Essenes, Zealots, disciples and women. Kids are welcome to come and learn about these groups of people alongside our adults. There will be coloring stations that all can participate in each week from “Illustrated Children’s Ministry” that deal with the different sta-tions of the cross. Through this study we hope you will reflect on how Jesus meets you where you are. WHAT'S NEXT? This is a time of change for our church and your session is at work to facilitate moving forward. Sharon Amstutz has been named acting head of staff until we have an interim and will work full time. She will preach twice a month and the other two Sundays we will have the opportunity to hear from other area ministers. If you have an urgent need to reach Sharon evenings or weekends simply email her and she will contact you right away. Fridays will continue to be her day off, and Mondays will be her study day.

-An Interim Search Committee has been formed and has begun their work. We anticipate that the search will take several months.

-After we secure an Interim, a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) will be elected by the congregation and begin their work.

*DFG. . 555 “Now Thank We All Our God” All praise and thanks to God, Who reigns in highest heaven, To Father and to Son And Spirit now be given. The one eternal God, Whom heaven and earth adore, The God who was, and is, And shall be evermore.

*P. THGIG *H.2 DJ “The Church’s One Foundation” arr. V. Nelhybel

The church’s one foundation Is Jesus Christ her Lord; She is His new creation By water and the word; From heaven He came and sought her To be His holy bride; With His own blood He bought her, And for her life He died. Elect from every nation, Yet one o’er all the earth. Her charter of salvation One Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy name she blesses, Partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses, With every grace endued. Though with a scornful wonder This world sees her oppressed, By schisms rent asunder, By heresies distressed, Yet saints their watch are keeping; Their cry goes up: “How Long?” And soon the night of weeping Shall be the morn of song.

Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war, She waits the consummation Of peace forevermore; Till with the vision glorious Her longing eyes are blest, And the great church victorious Shall be the church at rest. Yet she on earth has union With God the Three in One, And mystic sweet communion With those whose rest is won: O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we, Like them, the meek and lowly, May live eternally.

P. H ~ Sharon Amstutz, Associate Pastor God of our present and our future, as we gather here today we look for hope. The future is uncertain; we wonder what it will bring. Fill us with a vision for what we could be; Give us hope for our congregation and our community. Help us find the choices that lead to life in abundance.

God of hope, in times of uncertainty we so often fall into fear and worry. Show us the opportunities in our chaotic world, and remind us to consider seriously where our priorities and loyalties lie. Push us to see how our choices matter, and then fill us with hope in a new heaven and a new earth.

God of our future, may we walk boldly into what may come, as people, not only of faith, but of hope. May we share your hope and promise with the world in which we live. Amen. C K. “O Savior of the World” D. Clemensen

Save us, and help us, we humbly beseech Thee, O Lord; we humbly beseech Thee, O Lord.

In my moments of Fear Through Every Pain Every Tear

There's A God Who's Been Faithful To Me When My Strength Was All Gone

When My Heart Had No Song Still In Love He's Proved Faithful To Me

Every Word He's Promised Is True What I Thought Was Impossible I See My God Do

He's Been Faithful, Faithful To Me

Looking Back, His Love And Mercy I See Though In My Heart I Have Questioned

even Failed To Believe He's Been Faithful, Faithful To Me

When My Heart Looked Away The Many Times I Could Not Pray Still My God- He Was Faithful To Me The Days I Spent So Selfishly

Reaching Out For What Pleased Me even Then God Was Faithful To Me Every Time I Come Back To Him He Is Waiting with Open Arms

And I See Once Again

REJOICING

*H.2 ROJG “Celebrate the Church’s Journey” (vv. 1-4) Vesper Hymn

In 1987, anticipating the occa-sion of the Bicentennial of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the national offices endorsed a hymn contest. Danny Massie composed Celebrate the Church’s Journey set to the tune of Vesper Hymn. For our Centennial, we have commissioned Robert J. Greene, Jr. to compose a Festival arrangement of this hymn tune featuring Danny Massie’s text. Robert has served us faithfully as interim organist and gifted composer. In this setting, he has interpreted each stanza of the Church’s journey by creating interludes which quote four of our great hymns: “The God of Abraham Praise”; “Joy to the World”; “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”; and “For All the Saints.”

*A2 F (Unison) Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was cruci-fied, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. P. P ~ Russ Pearson T L’ P. (Unison) Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. SJ RG ~ Acts 16:1-15 ~ Danny Massie The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. RESPONDING

*H.2 R “Celebrate the Church’s Journey” (vs. 5) Vesper Hymn (Please see previous page)

“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” arr. J. Biery Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, Opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the gloom of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day. All Thy works with joy surround Thee, Earth and heaven reflect Thy rays, Stars and angels sing around Thee, Center of unbroken praise. Field and forest, vale and mountain, Flowery meadow, flashing sea, Chanting bird and flowing fountain, Call us to rejoice in Thee. Mortals, join the happy chorus Which the morning stars began; Love divine is reigning o’er us, Joining all in heaven’s plan. Ever singing, march we onward, Victors in the midst of strife, Joyful music leads us sunward In the triumph song of life.

O. “The Lord is My Shepherd” John Rutter Chancel Choir, Charlotte Ellis, flute

The Lord is my shepherd; therefore can I lack nothing. He shall feed me in a green pasture, and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort. He shall convert my soul and bring me forth in the paths of

righteousness, for His Name’s sake. Yea, though I walk thro’ the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For Thou art with me: Thy rod and Thy staff

comfort me. Thou shalt prepare a table for me against them that trouble me: Thou hast anointed my head with oil and my cup shall be full. For Thy loving

kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
