Wedding bells Congratulations to Miss Crowhurst, one of our School Direct trainee teachers working with Mrs Russell in Year 3, who got married last weekend. We wish her and her husband Chris lots of happiness! Miss Crowhurst will now be known as Mrs West! Pianist needed Are you, or somebody you know, a confident piano player who would like to volunteer a small amount of your time to accompany the children at our Year 5/6 Christmas Carol Concert on 19 th December? If you are able to help us out, please contact the school office. Malvern Vale Open Evening On Tuesday, we had a really successful Open Evening at Malvern Vale Primary School. A constant stream of interested parents and few potential pupils, kept us busy throughout the event; it was really exciting to see the interest in our school and we’re looking forward to seeing it grow next year. Creativity and cooperation in Year 5 Uniform reminder Now that Children in Need is over, may we request that hairbands, with ears or bobbles, are not worn to school as part of the school uniform. Dogs on the school site A gentle reminder that pet dogs are not permitted on the school site at drop off or pick up times. The one exception you may notice is a trainee Guide Dog called Gus, being trained by one of our parents at Somers Park. Assistance dogs are permitted on the school site and whilst Gus is training, he needs to become familiar and relaxed in busy situations and around children; he is easily identifiable by his blue lead with a fluorescent yellow label, so if you or your child would like to say hello, please do. Exploring new tastes in Nursery A little extra… Well done to Daisy, Millie and Montana, who held a Year 6 cake sale last week. All off their own back, they raised £20.70 which they have chosen to donate to Cancer Research. Photographs Last week your children had their individual school photographs taken. Please ensure all proofs and payment are returned to the school office by 9:15am next Monday morning (26 th Nov). Orders submitted after this time will need to be done directly with Tempest. Coats It’s that time of year! It’s really cold outside, in fact on Wednesday, we had our first sprinkling of snow in the air!

Dear parents and carers,

The end of this school week has come round very quickly due to tomorrow being one of our planned INSET days.

Wedding bells Congratulations to Miss Crowhurst, one of our School Direct trainee teachers working with Mrs Russell in Year 3, who got married last weekend. We wish her and her husband Chris lots of happiness! Miss Crowhurst will now be known as Mrs West!

Pianist needed Are you, or somebody you know, a confident piano player who would like to volunteer a small amount of your time to accompany the children at our Year 5/6 Christmas Carol Concert on 19th December? If you are able to help us out, please contact the school office.

Malvern Vale Open Evening On Tuesday, we had a really successful Open Evening at Malvern Vale Primary School. A constant stream of interested parents and few potential pupils, kept us busy throughout the event; it was really exciting to see the interest in our school and we’re looking forward to seeing it grow next year.

Creativity and cooperation in Year 5

However, we have spotted some children coming into school without coats on. Please ensure your child has their coat in school with them every day.

We saw our first snow at Malvern Vale this week

Nasal Flu Vaccination Children from Reception to Y5 will be having their nasal spray vaccination in school on the 4th December. However, vaccinations will only be given it if parents have signed the permission slip. If you haven’t and would like your child to have the flu jab, you need to come to the school office to complete a form by Monday, as the forms are being collected on Tuesday.

More information about the vaccination can be found here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/child-flu-vaccine/

Inset Day Tomorrow, Friday 23rd November, is one of our planned INSET Days. School is closed to children as teachers are undertaking training, with a focus on teaching and learning in English

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes

Chris Hansen
