There will be hospitality served in the cafeterias and all the classrooms will be open. This is a wonderful opportunity to see all the FAITH - ACADEMICS - SERVICE at work in our children's school. Don't miss it!!
SOUP AND CEREAL COLLECTION NEXT WEEK! To celebrate Catholic Schools Week the students at Lumen Christi will be collecting cans of soup at the Thiensville campus and boxes of cereal at the Mequon campus next week from Monday through Thursday. All food can be brought into your child’s homeroom. Food will be donated to St. Hyacinth’s in Milwaukee. TWILIGHT TRIVIA JR. Save the Date! Twilight Trivia Jr. will be Friday, April 20, 2012 from 7-9:30p.m. Start gathering your team, chosing a table captain, and brushing up on TRIVIA facts. It’s sure to be a fun night! SHAMROCK MEETING The next Shamrock meeting is scheduled for February 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Ozaukee Country Club.
SCHOOL FORUM The second School Forum was held on the evening of Thursday, January 12th. Thank you to all that braved the weather that night to attend! The School Forum is a chance for all parents and faculty to hear about what is discussed at the monthly School Council meetings. The focus of the update was on the new curriculum and professional development programs that are currently being planned and piloted. Kelly Fyfe also briefed us on where we are headed and what it means to be a "21st Century School". Lastly, there was an open question and answer period, where several questions and concerns were raised. The follow-up on these have been assigned to the appropriate sub-committee of the School Council. If you missed it, be sure to watch the video on the Lumen Christi channel on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/user/lumenchristichannel/featured (select Forum#2). If you have any questions or feedback on the School Council, please contact Kim Althaus at [email protected] or Joe Cesarz at [email protected]. 7TH GRADERS – PPI FUN NIGHT The 7th grade PPI Fun Night is scheduled for Saturday, February 4th. Come join students from Lumen Christi as well as Steffen and Lake Shore for a fun night of games, music, and prizes. Note: Electronics of any kind (cell phones!) are not allowed and parents need to sign both pages of the permission slip. Questions? Please call Nancy Klug – 238-1121 or Maria Greisch – 242-7358. THERE’S STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! Get a Group Together and Donate. Embrace Shamrock 2012's theme and GATHER your friends, sports team or school group, GIVE some money to GROW your resources and support the school. Chat with your friends to discover what they'd like to see up for bid – something unique, something special – and go in together to make that wish a reality. Ideas include: jewelry, new gadgets, ski accessories, electronic games, or gift cards from the kids' favorite stores – think outside the box! All donations received by February 3 are guaranteed space in the catalog, but we’ll take what you have until March 9th! So don’t waste time, call your friends now to gather, give and grow! Please contact Susie O’Byrne ([email protected]) or Erin Wermers ([email protected]) to donate! We are creating a reflective DVD set to music and need pictures to make it possible. You can submit them in one of three ways: email "jpg" files to Deanna Lee at [email protected], send a flashdrive to Deanna Lee or send in hardcopy pictures with your name on the back via Virginia Lee 8C or to Deanna Lee via the LCThiensville school office. Please provide these by the end of February. THANKS SKI/SNOWBOARDING NEWS We are excited to have 64 students signed up for this year! We need a parent to take over the Ski/Snowboarding club for the winter of 2013. It would be ideal if 1-2 parents could commit now so that they can be "trained"! Please call Jane Bartlett if interested: cell 414-916-0632.
