PA SPAGHETTI DINNER – TUESDAY APRIL 24TH On Tuesday, April 24th, Parent's Association will be hosting the Spring Spaghetti Social from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Lumen Christi Mequon gym. Enjoy a delicious pasta dinner catered by Mama Mia's, including pasta, salad, dessert and a drink for only $6.00 per person (children 2 and under are free). RSVP’s are due to the school office by Monday, April 16th.

PLACEMENT REQUESTS The school administration, in cooperation with the classroom teachers, is responsible for the student classroom placement assignments. Many factors are considered when determining classroom placements, including student ability levels, academic strengths and challenges, processing skills, special education needs, personalities, friendships, maturity levels, past and present conflicts and resolutions, growth and development, teacher-student relationships, student to student relationships, gender influences, birthdates, birth order, etc. The teachers and administration of the school make all placement decisions with the students’ best interest in mind. Any educational concerns need to be submitted in writing to Mrs. Fyfe no later than April 19th. Specific teacher requests will not be accepted. LITERARY COMPETITION Delta Kappa Gamma announced the winners of their literary competition. 6th grader Charles Langenfeld won second place for his writing, Plant Invasion. 3rd grader Abbie O’Byrne won first place for her story, The Crazy Chicken and The Missing Eggs. Her work was sent to the state competition where Abbie placed second! Congratulations to Charles, Abbie, and their teachers. We’re proud of you. BAYSHORE CHARMING CHARLIE "GIVE BACK" - SUNDAY, APRIL 22ND FROM 6-8PM Parents Association is proud to present a Shopping & Fundraising opportunity for Lumen Christi School. Mark your calendars for the Charming Charlie "Give Back" on Sunday, April 22nd from 6-8 PM. Charming Charlie is an award-winning fashion jewelry and accessories retailer located at Bayshore Mall. It specializes in trendy fashion accessories and classic staples to suit any occasion, mood or style. What’s best is that their merchandise is affordable: all jewelry, women’s handbags and accessories are priced primarily between $4.97 and $49.97! During this “Give Back”, there will be two hours of mingling, snacking, shopping and bejeweling. We will have the store all to ourselves, so it should be a great time! Make sure to bring your friends and family. Charming Charlie is donating 10% of ALL sales made back to Lumen Christi Catholic School's Parent's Association. ORIENTATION TO 4TH GRADE It is hard to believe that we are already preparing for the 2012-2013 school year. New this year, Lumen Christi will be offering an orientation for parents of incoming fourth graders on Tuesday, April 24th from 6:00 – 6:30 pm at the Mequon Campus. This event is designed to answer questions, provide information, meet the fourth grade teachers and tour the campus so you can prepare your child for a smooth transition. Please mark your calendar! ORDER YOUR LUMEN CHRISTI SHAMROCK DVD We are offering, free of charge, a copy of the LC DVD shown at Shamrock to all school families. If you are interested, please send the order form included in this week’s Thursday Folder to the school office. If you would like to make a donation for the DVD, feel free to do so in any amount. All donations will be put towards the $7,000 STILL NEEDED for the iPad Fund-an-Item. Thank you for your generosity.
