www.tidbitscda.com For Ad Rates call: (208) 755-9120 [email protected] of Kootenai County, Idaho Issue #45 Nov. 4th by Kathy Wolfe We’ve all seen it nearly every day of our lives. This week, Tidbits is full of “bet you didn’t know that” facts about the moon. • The moon is 225,745 miles (363,301 km) from Earth. If you were able to plan a trip there, it would be about a two-day trip on a rocket or a 625-hour ride on a 747 jet flying at 400 mph (644 km/hr). If you could drive your car there, it would take 135 days traveling at 70 mph (112 km/hr). • Driving around the circumference of the moon, 6,790 miles (10,864 km), is about equal to a trip from New York to London and back. The moon is about 27% the size of Earth, with an area of 14,658,000 square miles (37,932,000 sq. km). That’s about 9.4 billion acres. • Temperatures on the moon vary from 273 degrees F (134 C) at the hottest time of the day to -244 degrees F (-153C) at night. A day on the moon from sunrise to sunrise is about 708 hours. It rotates on its axis at a speed of about 10 mph (16 km/hr). Compare this with Earth, which rotates at about 1,000 mph (1,609 km/hr). Yet both the moon and Earth complete their orbit in about the same amount of time. TIDBITS® GOES TO THE MOON

Why you can’t lose weight, Part 3

There are many factors that effect our ability to not only lose weight and keep it off.The first 2 articles discussedthe effects of brain chemistry and hormones on our metabo-lism and ability to withstand foodcravings.

Another important aspect of permanentfat loss is detoxification and an overgrowth ofyeast. In order to attain optimal health and achieveweightloss, yourbodyhastohavetheabilitytodetoxify. The4majororgansforde-toxificationinclude:theliver,skin,kidneyandgastrointestinaltract.Weareexposedtonumer-oustoxinssuchas: the4billionpoundsofchemicalsreleasedintothegroundsince2000; the2.5billionpoundsofpesticidesusedinagricultureandonourlawnsandforests;or the 124 pounds of additivesAmericans eateach year. Commonsymptomsoftoxicbuildupin-cludeheadaches,muscularaches,fatigue,chron-icinfections,allergies,eczema,brainfog,infer-tilityandcancer,justtonameafew. We now have the ability to measure hun-dreds of toxins in our blood and urine. Where areallthesetoxinsstored?Bone, brain, nervoussystemtissue, butmainly, fatcells.Ourfatstoresanumberoftoxins, andwhenyoubeginadietand start to lose fat, these toxins are released. If adetoxificationhasnotbeenachieved,thesetox-ins can make you feel sick and then will look for other places to be stored. They then are re-storedinremainingfat,soeachfatcellbecomesmore concentratedwith toxins. As youworktolosemoreweight,yourbodywilltrytosloworhaltthefatcellsfrombeingreleasedandbro-ken down, because it doesn't want more toxins to overload your system and make you sicker. Weseethistimeandtimeagainespeciallyaftersomeonehaslostmorethan20pounds. There are 2 phases of detoxification;Phase1involvestheenzymesintheliverbreak-ing down toxins, and Phase 2 involves takingthesetoxinsandexcretingthemineitherurineorfeces.Bothphasesmustbecompletedtobesuc-cessful, and involve a number of supplements suchasvitaminC,glutathione,SAMe,Bvita-minsandflavonoids. If you crave sugar you could have anover-abundance of yeast - Candida albicans.Whenthisistreateditiseasiertoloseweight, astheCandidacausesustocravesugarandcarbs, increases our caloric absorption, and decreases ourBvitamins therebycontributing to fatigue.Diagnosis of chronic yeast infections can bedonebyhavingyourdoctororderabloodtestforcandida immune complex assay.
