Ever thought about making nachos

with bacon before? These will

become a regular for your house!

nachosnachosnachos

This recipe is inspired by appleydapply Bacon and Onion Nachos. I had unexpected company come by and I wanted to

make lunch for them. This is the result I got. It's hot and spicy but you can decrease the amount of jalapeño peppers. If you do not like crisp vegetables, microwave them to the desired consistency

you like. Gotta be crisp in Cobble House.ingredients✦ 1⁄2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled (divided)✦ 1⁄2-3⁄4 cup red onion, chopped (divided)✦ 1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped✦ 1 (2¼ oz) can sliced black olives and/or diced tomatoes✦ 6 -7 jalapeño peppers, seeded and chopped (divided)✦ 21⁄2 cups Mexican blend cheese (Shredded cheddar and

Monterey Jack Cheese, divided)✦ 9 ounces tortilla chipsdirections✦ Preheat oven to 425º ✦ Line a baking sheet with foil. ✦ Spread ½ bag of Tostitos over the foil. ✦ Sprinkle with half the bacon, onion, peppers and 1 cup of cheese. ✦ Spread the remaining ½ bag of Tostitos on top. ✦ Top with remaining bacon, onion, peppers, olives and tomatoes. ✦ Top with 1½ cup remaining cheese. ✦ Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly

browned.

The public is invited to the opening reception at the arts center on First Friday, March 6, from 5 to 7pm to meet

the artists and enjoy hors d’oeuvres.March’s featured artist is Dennis Young who is exhibiting a

show of pastel and oil paintings entitled “Waiting for Summer.”

Young, a doctor from New Castle, De., generally works outside on location, but retreats to his studio in cold

weather, often painting portraits. He waits for the season when he can get back outside to paint and participates in six to eight plein air events a year, including the August

event in Ocean City. The “Waiting for Summer” show will feature many of Young’s plein air paintings done in the vivid hues that

pastel paints bring to his art.

Stupid is as stupid does.– Forrest Gump

We all appreciate the “Stupid Criminal” stories but this twist is on the “Stupid Victim!”A scam occurred in the parking lot of the New Castle Farmer’s Market last week.A 36 year-old victim reported to police that she was approached by two subjects in the lot that day asking her if she would like to buy an Apple I-Pad or Samsung tablet for $400.00. The victim agreed to buy two I-pads, at which time the suspects showed her an item wrapped in bubble wrap that displayed the apple symbol on top of it. The items were later discovered to be ceramic tiles inside of an Apple box.

One wonders who is strolling the parking lot of the Farmers Market with a spare $800 bucks? And the thief’s price is not that much different than the Apple store or Amazon!

PRESSTIME UPDATE:there has been additional an incident at the same location.
