2.2 A94 INSTALLATIONWARNING

Before cutting the components to measure read carefully this manual and simulate the installation.

DANGER

If the components are cut incorrectly the system operation can be jeopardized and this may result in lossof steering and cause property damage and/or personal injury.

2 Position the engines in the center of thestroke observing any convergence ordivergence recommended by the enginemanufacturers as shown in the picture aside.(see the pictures below).

1 Install cylinder UC128 (starboard version) bycarrying out the instructions indicated in themanual and positioning the engines as shownin the pictures indicated in point 2.

NOTICE

Do not assemble the plugs on the cylinder body(see the picture aside).

i

3 Determine the application hole of the tie bar on the PORT side according to the engine(see the table at the end of the manual) and then measure distance "i" between thecenters of the threaded holes located on the two engine til ler arms.

The distance between the centers between the engine tiller arms must allow the correct use of theengine as it is indicated by the manufacturers of the engines.

The non-observance of this instruction can result in an excessive steering stress.WARNING

4 Unscrew spheric articulatedjoint (1) from the tie bar andwithdraw the external pipe (A).

5 Calculate the cutting lengths of the threaded bar and of the pipe according to thefollowing formulas:

i = distance between the centersof the threaded holes

a = pipe cutting lengthb = cutting length of the threadedbar

a = i - 378mm (14.9”)b = i - 262mm (10.3”)

The calculated values"a" and "b" could be different from the specific correct values for every installation. Therefore, before cutting the components, simulate the installation of the bar checking if the abovementioned values are correct.

WARNING

Apply some paper adhesive tape in order to determine the cutting point of the bar and the pipe.WARNING

A 1

6 Cut the components according to values "a" and "b", which are calculated by means of proper tools;be careful not to hurt yourself while cutting.

Cut the bar and the pipe in a direction which is perpendicular to the axis and bevel them after carryingout the cutting. Eliminate the burrs and the impurities resulting from cutting by means of compressedair before the installation.

WARNING

Do not carry out the cutting saving costs; please contact a properly equipped workshop.DANGER
