The PPR software installation wizard currently does not automatically install the PPR driver software onto Windows® 8 computers. We’re working on a fix to resolve this problem. In the meantime, you can use the work-around described in this document to manually install the PPR driver software onto Windows® 8 computers. 1. Use the PPR software installation CD to install the PPR software. The PPR software installation
wizard completes normally, but it does not automatically start the PPR driver software installation wizard to install the PPR driver software. You can use the following process to manually start the PPR driver software installation wizard.
2. After installing the PPR software and before doing anything else on the computer, click in the
Windows Explorer Address bar and type in %temp%

9. Exit from Windows® Explorer, and attach the USB cable from the PPR to the computer. Start the PPR software, and use the PPR to run the PPR verification card. If the Verification Card has Passed message appears, the PPR driver software is working correctly, and you can use the PPR to read Petrifilm™ plates.
