• Software engineering research in industry settings faces often some challenges:– Limited access to data or data cannot be

published

– Inability to control the experimental setting, e.g. case studies are under-resourced

– Research methods cannot be used in their full extent

• From the education point of view, student assignments and projects are not always up-to-date or not relevant from the industry level software engineering practice point of view

• From the industry and entrepreneurship point of view, collaboration can be challenging especially in the case of start-ups, individual entrepreneurs and small firms, who often doesn’t even have hardware and software resources or facilities for the students
