Use “gustar” to talk about the things you like to do.

Ejemplo: I like to readWe like to run.

“Gustar” is different… We don’t use gustar with the usual subject

pronouns.

Me gusta Te gusta Le gusta Nos gusta Os gusta Les gusta

Because you are using “gustar” pronouns, you don’t necessarily have to put a subject.

If you want to put a subject, you have to write it differently.

When translating “gustar”, it does not get conjugated like most verbs…

If you want to say “I like to read”…

We like to run.

The boys like to eat.

Maria likes to skate.

Nos gusta correr.

Les gusta comer.

Le gusta patinar.

You could have also written them like this…

A nosotros nos gusta correr.A los chicos les gusta comer. A Maria le gusta patinar.

Sí, me gusta bailar.(Yes, I like to dance.)

*nota: remember, “no” also means “don’t”

No, no me gusta bailar.

(No, I don’t like to dance.)
