Fourth Sunday of Lent March 31, 2019

From the Pastor

Dcn. Abel CortesDcn. Larry LucidoDcn. Bob Marrinan

Dcn. Brian MitchellDcn. Peter Raad

My Dear Parishioners,

This is Laetare Sunday, from the Latin for “rejoice!” taken from the opening antiphon, “Laetare,

Jerusalem!” We are now more than halfway through our Lenten journey toward Easter. Hopefully

we have discovered that Christ is with us on our journey lighting the way for us. He is calling us away

from the darkness into His own wonderful light. The problem many times is that when we begin to

walk by the light of faith, when we start to turn our life around and live the lifestyle of a follower of

Christ (a Christian), there are those around us who give us a hard time about it. Christ is the Light of

the World. Let us draw our strength from Him. Then by our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, Jesus

Christ may be seen in us, even by those who ridicule us for the practice of our faith in Jesus Christ.

This is the end of March and a good time to make an examination of conscience. Please look at your

life and see how you have or have not been walking in the light of Christ by loving God and loving

your neighbor. Then with courage, come to reconcile with Our Lord as you encounter Him in the

Sacrament of Penance.

Today, at the 9:30 am and 2:00 pm Masses, those in the RCIA & RICA programs who are preparing

to enter into the Catholic Church this Easter will participate in the Second Scrutiny. During this

Second Scrutiny, after hearing the story of the man born blind, they will be called to look for their own

spiritual blindness and ask to be led on the sure and certain path by the True Shepherd, Jesus Christ,

Who will never let us be led astray. Please pray for them.

Sincerely yours in Christ,Fr. Guadagnoli

Noticias y Eventos

Una Noche, Siete Iglesias Jueves, 18 de abril, 9pm- 12am. ¡Cupo limitado!

Guadagnoli
