Poutini’s House of Poutine (1112 Queen Street West, M6J 1H9)Indulge in a Canadian classic! This is chips’n’gravy as you’ve never experienced it before. Crisp fries served with cheese curds and gravy – you can even add bacon and maple syrup.

Aunties and Uncles (74 Lippincott St, M5S 2P1)Regarded as one of Toronto’s favourite brunch stops, be sure to check out their cinnamon French toast and the ‘Breakfast Pocket’.

Tim Hortons (various, city-wide)A Canadian institution selling coffee, sandwiches and snacks. Make sure to grab yourself some Timbits® - mini dough balls in a variety of tasty flavours.

FOR THE FOODIES NightlifeTo get the full-on Toronto experience, make sure you visit a sports bar! Check out Toronto’s Shark Club (10 Dundas Street East, M5B 2G9), part of a group voted Canada’s best sports bars. For a more indie experience, rock up at The Loose Moose (146 Front Street West, M5J 1G2) to enjoy a beer while you watch the game, then head downstairs to The Antler Room at the weekend for live music.

GETTING AROUND

Take a ride on a streetcar... Glide along the city’s streets aboard one of its streetcars for an affordable and convenient way to explore further out destinations.

Rent a bike Hire yourself a pair of wheels and get exploring the diverse neighbourhoods the city has to offer. Free cycling maps are available at Civic Centers, libraries and bicycle shops city-wide.
