Self-taught musician brings joy and tunes to othersAfter George McMurray retired from Colorado State University, where he taught Spanish and Spanish American Literature, he started tinkering on the piano.

The retired professor and author began to pour time and energy into the music and learned to play by ear. “No sheet music for me,” says George, who has an extensive repertoire.

Now, George shares his musical talents with other residents by playing the piano twice a month during a cocktail hour (Thursdays from 4 to 5 pm). He also leads a name-that-tune discussion at the gathering.

Residents explored the exhibits at Montana WILD. The visit included live raptor, amphibian, mammal, and fish programs. Irish dancers and a calligraphy class also attracted lots of participation.
